If you're a theater lover take advantage of Chicago's vibrant performance options by checking out the CST. It's right on Navy Pier and is served by excellent public transportation and a parking garage. The theater is relatively new and has great sound and seating. The last thing I saw there was a play in Italian (with super titles) performed by an excellent Italian company on tour.
Located on beautiful Navy Pier, the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre is full of large windows when you first walk into the lobby. The Theater it self is small and circular so the performance can be viewed from three angles. It is clean, well-managed and in the heart of downtown Chicago.
Just saw an amazing version of The Tempest here! The acting was phenomenal and the music was too awesome for words!
Chicago Shakespeare Theatre is a wonderful theatre! They present Shakespeare productions, well known and not so well known, of high quality! They also bring in visiting theatre companies from throughout the world. They do shortened versions of various plays for students during the school day, so this is a wonderful place for anyone, old and young alike, to get their Shakespeare on! As an actress, I can attest to them having high quality theatre, but I have seen Shakespeare that I've liked better than at CST. Nonetheless, they have wonderful scenery, wonderful actors, and ticket prices that can fit the needs of anyone. A wonderful place to provide the Midwest with a bit of culture! And while you're at it, you can explore Navy Pier.
A very good theatre, once passed by, saw their performance schedule, all kinds of performances.
Beginning in 2000, it has become a highlight of naval docks and attracts many art lovers.
If you don't go in, the surrounding environment is good. It's also a good choice to take a leisurely stroll.
The Tony Award-winning theatre is geographically embedded in Lake Michigan, with the skyscraper behind it as a backdrop like an air deck. The former naval docks now have two huge spires, with an average of two theatrical performances held here every day. Close to museums and complex buildings with Ferris wheels make it a popular place for local art.
