Daeseung Falls

Located in Seoraksan Mountain, Daiyo Falls is famous as the resting place of the last king of Silla, King Sunkyung. The four Chinese characters "Nine Heavens Galaxy" are engraved on the boulder on the hillside opposite the waterfall, and there is a viewing platform to enjoy the waterfall. The surrounding mountains are beautiful and the streams are cool, attracting many tourists. Legend has it that there was a man named Mahayana, whose parents died when he was a child, and lived by picking and selling mushrooms. One day he tied a rope to the waterfall stone pillar to pick mushrooms, and suddenly heard the cry of his mother, so he hurriedly climbed the cliff and saw that there was no mother, but a big centipede was biting the rope, and Mahayana was rescued. This waterfall is also named the Daiyu Waterfall because of the cry of the mother who did not forget to save her child under Jiuquan.
