Bernina express was my Swiss trip highlight back in Nov 2019. From Zurich we headed to Chur. During winter, train terminates in Tirano (Italy) and not Lugano. the journey from Chur-Tirano-Chur) took a whole day. Free ride using Swiss travel pass but really worth it to pay extra for panoramic train (Chur-Tirano leg)

was blessed with a clear sky when I took the train. got the chance to see the great beauty that Mother Nature have gave us! Bernina is definitely befitting of the title of Europe’s most famous little red train. I’m so Glad that I got myself a train ticket even though I find it a bit pricey.
BERNINA Express - Taking half a day to experience the world's cultural heritage, the railway line is a sightseeing route that is abounding in climate change, sometimes sunny and rainy, with snowy mountains, lakes, pastures, and, most strikingly, the highest ice lakes, Travelling times always go by fast.
We took the Albula-Bernina Express from St. Moritz to Tirano, a small town on the Italian border (to the Fox Town shopping village). The train travels through 55 tunnels and 196 bridges along the way. It travels 145 kilometers from the foothills of the Alps to the shore of Nanguo Lake, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.
The Bernina Express is a bright red train across the Alps. The journey starts in the town of Chur and ends in Tirana on the northern border of Italy. As long as you sit on this high-speed train, you can enjoy glaciers and mountain peaks and many other beautiful scenery.
