Wow.! what a fabulous place for a coffee and quick bite to eat ,there&#39;s a wonderful selection of food,friendly helpful staff one in particular I believe she&#39;s called Julia who could not do enough to make my visit a memorable one...what a star. Top marks for the Grassmarket Cafe.

When I came, I happened to encounter a restaurant activity. I got a 75% discount. It was very cost-effective. The dishes inside were also delicious. The main scenery was very good. The large floor-to-ceiling windows made it very good to see the scenery at the window.

We had Craig as our waiter this evening and he was absolutely amazing, very polite, respectful and up for a good quick chat. The Gaucho is a modern restaurant for solos, families and so on. The toilets were looking good aswell. On the food side: I&#39;d say not the best steak I&#39;ve ever had, but really, really good. The special sauce is doing its job and the topping aswell. Both of them are really delicious. Btw: Craigs recommandation again. :) Looking forward to visit the gaucho another time.

The service was very slow but the staff, when they came, were helpful and friendly. We suspect that there was a shortage of staff.

I had a visit to the Greyfriars Kirk today and arrived early and hungry. Plenty of time for a light snack. Not knowing the area I asked staff at the Kirk and they directed me to here. What a friendly and helpful bunch if staff they have. Not once did I see Graham/Graeme without a smile. I had the cheese(mozzarella) and ham panini, cup of tea and a bit of delicious carrot cake. Lovely bright seating area with other tables outside. Chatting yo Graham/Graeme he told me about what they do to help people a bit down on their luck, pretty much everything, they have a 7 day programme to give folk something to do. Profits from the cafe go towards all the activities. I left promising to be back sometime, I did a few hours later after a walk round Grassmarket. Please don&#39;t walk past this place for a snack. Pop in, eat and enjoy the experience knowing that you could be helping someone get back on their feet.

Stopped in here on the Sandeman&#39;s Free Walking Tour. They use this as a sales office on tours and as a bathroom stop and for anyone needing a coffee/tea/snack break. Very clean, nice staff, small retail area. Profits support social programs. I like that. Inside and outdoor seating available.

I came across this cafe when I was recently in Edinburgh with a friend. It is a lovely cafe and surprisingly peaceful given that it is in central Edinburgh. There is a good selection of food and drink, all reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly, chatty and helpful. My friend and I were very happy with our food and drink choices. Best of all this cafe supports vulnerable people with a variety of enterprises. Eat, drink and support a good cause all at once
