An overlooked romantic fairy tale kingdom | Copenhagen, a spur-of-the-moment trip
In July 2022, a spontaneous trip to Copenhagen.
As we all know, the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen, which accompanied us through childhood, originated here.
In a moment of impulsiveness, I bought a ticket for the next day. I departed from Hamburg, Germany, not far from Denmark. Since I couldn't get a train ticket at such short notice, I bought a Flixbus ticket instead, which took about 5.5 hours.
The fantasy begins here...
Got on the bus, after two and a half hours of driving suddenly entered a pitch-black environment, and we all got off the bus. After getting off the bus with a bewildered look, I found myself on a huge ship ⛴️... with duty-free shops, dining, and more. Opening Google maps, I realized that I was floating on the sea. So, blowing in the sea breeze, I began to make a travel plan...
🌟Highlight features:
1. Mermaid 🧜♀️
A bronze sculpture based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid".
Every tourist will go to the place to take photos. I think passing by, the surrounding lake and greenery are very beautiful.
Address: Langelinie, 2100 København Ø, Denmark
2. Xingang
Copenhagen is a place of charm, with many beer houses and restaurants.
3. Organ Church 💒
Suitable for taking photos, a bit far from the city center, about half an hour by bus.
Address: På Bjerget 14B, 2400 København NV, Denmark
Monday closed
4. Qu Fu Li Park 🎠
Disney's predecessor, it is recommended to spend at least half a day here. There are fireworks before closing at night. The fireworks are beautiful, but the music doesn't quite match.
The park has a separate app that can be downloaded in advance.
Location: Vesterbrogade 3, 1630 København V, Denmark
5. Changing of the guard ceremony of the Royal Danish Guard.
Wearing a furry hat in the middle of summer is a bit ridiculous but interesting. The exchange ceremony in Sweden was simple and elegant. However, the grandiose parade with a marching band lasted for a couple of hours.
At 12:00 noon every day, it is recommended to write early so that you can squeeze to the front of the crowd.
Address: Amalienborg Palace (Danish Palace)
6. ❤️ My top recommended destination:
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Suitable for art and leisure companions. This is a place where art and nature blend together. It is also a must-visit spot for me on this trip. Two years ago, I saw an exhibition of Louisiana in Shanghai and have been thinking about it ever since. After visiting, it exceeded my already high expectations. It is located by the sea, and the art gallery leads directly to the ocean. After a tiring stroll, you can sit by the sea.
Distance: Far from the city center, about one hour by Re train or 40 minutes by car. Located in the coastal area of northern Copenhagen.
Duration: Suitable for a day of leisure, at least half a day. It is also very suitable for staying there for a weekend.
Location: Gl Strandvej 13, 3050 Humlebæk, Denmark
🌟Restaurant:
1. Captain H Chinese BBQ & Korean Bistro
Chinese barbecue! I was so moved because there is no barbecue in the city where I live.
The price is on the high side.
2. The Olive
Local internet-famous restaurant, it's best to make a reservation on their official website in advance. I made a reservation in advance, but because I met a friend from Denmark and decided to eat together at the last minute, there was no available seat to add. However, after negotiating and waiting, we finally got to eat.
🔒Tip:
1. After 10pm, all restaurants are closed!!! The open bars only serve drinks, there is no food available. ⁉️‼️‼️
This is an absolute trap. It took me five or six hours to get here on the first day, and the several restaurants I planned to go to were closed. When I started to settle for less, I found that all the restaurants were closed!! I walked for an hour or two and almost covered the entire city on the first night.
2. If traveling independently, all train tickets can be purchased on the Omio app. Subway and bus tickets can be purchased at subway or bus stations.
3. Many restaurants are closed on Sundays. Denmark has many Michelin restaurants with good value for money.
The way to see the Little Mermaid just caught up with the changing of the guard at the entrance of the Amerinburg Communist Party, because it was impossible to enter, just watched the change for a while, the soldiers were neatly paced, the unique ceremony looked quite interesting, attracting many tourists to stop
The Palace of Amerinburg was built in the eighteenth century and is considered one of Denmark's greatest rococo architecture. The palace consists of four identical buildings, the Palace of Christian VII, Christian VIII, Frederick VIII and Christian IX, which are distributed in the octagonal courtyard. The Palace of Amerinburg is Her Majesty's main residence. The flag is raised to indicate that the Queen is in the palace. Parts of the castle are open to the public and people can currently visit two of the palaces - the Palace of Christian VIII and the Palace of Christian VII. In the center of the courtyard is a statue of King Frederick V on horseback, which was introduced in 1771 five years after the death of Frederick V. The statue is considered one of the best horseback riding statues in the world. The Palace of Amerinburg is also known for its Royal Danish Guards. The guards patrol the Royal Family Courtyard. The Royal Danish Guards depart from Rosenberg at 11:30 a day, taking a neat step through the streets of Gobenhagen
The Amerinburg Palace, the last of the three major palaces in Denmark, is also the current palace in Denmark. If you see the flag on the square is raised, it means that the Queen of Denmark is living in it. The palace is composed of four identical buildings and is completely symmetrical in shape. Two of the four palaces are currently accessible: the Palace of Christine VIII (partly the museum of the Glücksburg royal family) and the Palace of Christine VII (where the Queen uses it to receive guests and official representatives).
It was like a fairy tale palace in which the Queen was represented by a palace flying the Danish flag. The Royal Guards in Andersen's fairy tales, with their high hats on their heads, are walking back and forth like nobody else. If there were no tourists in the square, everything would really be like a set in a fairy tale.
The Royal Palace of Amerinburg is located on the shore of the Orsson Strait in the eastern part of downtown Copenhagen. The Danish Queen spends more than half a year here. The Royal Guard soldiers guarding the palace are all about1.9 meters in front of the palace. They wore bearskin hats, black coats in ancient army uniforms, gold buttons, blue pants, white stripes, and large leather boots; they were crossed with white straps in front, and swords and scorpions (for ancient fashion bullets and ammunition) behind them, living like the "foreign iron soldiers" in Andersen's fairy tale. Sometimes they stood still with their guns in front of the spire, the octagon, the red post; sometimes they were shoulder-guns and hands crossed, looking ahead, feet straight, and two guards walked face to face or side by side from one end of the gate of the palace to the other. Then they turned back 180 degrees.
The Palace is kept clean and structures ar still in very good condition despite the many traveling visitors. the Amalie garden across is well manicured and simply admirable.
