How delicious. We drove 30 kilometers from Colonia into the Uruguayan countryside. The last few kilometers followed a bumpy dirt road with curious Hereford cows and a lonely emu to Los Cerros winery. Marcelo showed us the buildings around the winery and the original buildings and barrels from the 1850s, and then prepared a wonderful tasting and lunch for us in the beautiful autumn sun in front of the tasting room/shop. We tried 3 delicious local red wines including cheese and cut meat, we ate fresh ravioli and homemade sauce, and finished with an incredible caramel caramel with a spoonful of dulce de leche. Absolute heaven
