Monastery Gračanica

It’s really suitable to come here to meet with good friends. I come two or three times a year and it has become a must for my party.

The Monastery of Gracanica, about 10 kilometres south of the capital of Kosovo, was built by Serbian King Milutin in 1321 on the ruins of a 6th-century church. In 2006, it was added to the "Kosovo medieval monuments (Medieval Monuments in Kosovo)" by UNESCO, and as a world cultural heritage, the monastery belongs to the Byzantine art style, several surrounding domes surround the central dome beautiful and spectacular, the monastery is intact and preserved the king, The queen and other medieval religious paintings. Today, 75 kilometers from the Macedonian capital Skopje, at noon, I arrived in the small town of Grachanica, ten kilometers south of Pristina, Kosovo's capital, a Serbian-populated area. Grachanica monastery was rebuilt by the King of Serbia in 1321 on the ruins of the sixth century Christian church. The monastery is made of masonry and exquisite, the murals in the monastery are mostly created in the 16th century, the peak of Serbian medieval art. There are several towering ancient trees in the courtyard, the ground covered with lawns. Gracanica monastery is a monument to architectural history in religious, cultural, historical, architectural and artistic terms. It was listed on the World Heritage List in 2006 and is listed as an "endangered World Heritage List".
