Wow.
Something you just have to experience. No lava flowing on our visit but still amazing to see. Plan on at least a full day and you can see a whole lot of the park.
Well worth the trip from anywhere on the island. The park rangers were informative. You can drive to various lookouts. At night the views of the lava are exceptional!

Big Hole
The volcano hole on top of the volcano is very impressive in its size and flat bottom. Mt. Fuji and Mt St. Helens do not have the big 'lava lake'.
