#wheretogo While in the Labrador Nature Reserve, we checked out the stone feature also known in Chinese as Long Ya Men that was originally a natural outcrop that stood in the water just off the shores of Labrador Nature Reserve. Red Beacon was just a stone's away with the eye-catching red color that used to serve as a navigational guide for mariners. Address: 91 Labrador Villa Rd Singapore 119190 How to get there: Nearest Mrt station is Labroder Park Mrt station in circle line. There were signboard to guide you when you came out of the station. It was a good trail to walk in the morning. Started with lush, greenery trail, you will come across those world war 2 relics and tunnels. Interesting for children to know more about the history of Singapore. The trail will change into a costal scenery when you came out. Walking along the coastal trail will lead you to see the Red beacon and the Dragon teeth. We completed with the Berlayer creek trail which lead us back to the Mrt station. Labrador Nature Reserve is a wonderful park that offers toddler-friendly playgrounds, historic, forbidden tunnels, seaside views and so on. Some of the weekend to enjoy away from city life ❤️❤️❤️

This park is a favourite of nature lovers. It is unique to its World War II fort built in 1878 to defend Keppel Harbour, a rich forest of biodiversity and play an important part in Singapore's military history. You may discover historical war sites! I particularly like the nature trails, which may spot squirrels scurrying up trees, butterflies and beautiful birds chirping. Singapore has a nature reserve located down south west of Singapore. Located at 91 Labrador Villa Rd Singapore 119190 Labrador Villa Rd is the Labrador Nature Reserve. This reserve is part of the southern ridges where it comprises of Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, and Kent Ridge Park. These park are not connected by the way. For trials and such, labrador offers an approximate distance of 2km with coastal views which compromises of Alexandra Garden Trail, Berlayer Creek mangrove trail, and Bukit Chermin Boardwalk. These trials are well pathed and marked so you do not need to worry to go off track or get your shoes dirty. For parking, do come early as the parking is rather limited and gets filled up quite quickly on weekend mornings. Head down to VivoCity via train, have a simple breakfast at basement, then we headed to Keppel Bay boardwalk. Standing at the coastline, Sentosa Island is just directly opposite us. The blue sky was crystal clear and the sea breeze made the walk so enjoyable. Singapore has a lot of rich people. Just look at the yacht parked at here, and the private condos around this area. You will need at least a few millions in your pocket in order to enjoy such lifestyle. From Keppel Bay, we follow the track and it lead us to Labrador Park. Down here will be more shady because a lot of trees. Walk till the end of the park, and we reached a small beach. There is a jetty where people tends to come here for fishing. We made a turn into the “jungle” towards Tamarind resort, abs along the way have some WII gun placement and battery historical place. Compound is smaller scale if compared to Sentosa Siloso. We ended our morning walk at Labrador MRT station and overall journey is quite relax. Oh ya! Getting There - 15 minutes walk from Labrador Park MRT station Park size - 22 hectares Nature Reserve opening hours - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily (entering or remaining in the nature reserve after 7:00 pm is not allowed) Attractions - World War Two relics Located behind Labrador Park is a hidden gem where several World War II relics can be found. A replica of a six-inch gun along with statues of soldiers at work can be found near the top of the hill as well as two world War two machine gun pillbox can be found within the area. One of the pillbox is located on the hill and the other pillbox is located behind the public toilet further down, along the foot of the hill. Most of the pillbox were demolished except three; two are situated at Labrador Park. This place was also one of the 11 artillery forts for southern and western coastal defence of Singapore built by the British in the early 19th century. This is a great place for hiking and get your child to understand some WW2 history of Singapore. There are plenty of activities such as bird watching, hiking or even just a trip to the playground will bring lots of fun! #summervacation#hikingtrails
