Lake Shore East Park

A short walk from the military port is Chicago’s most famous riverwalk. Walk across the Lake Shore Bridge, walk on the right side and you will see a doorway, go down the steps to the ground, and you will be the starting point of the river promenade (Chicago River)

East Lakeshore Park is the center of the 28-acre East Lakeshore development on the Chicago Inner Loop. Overlooking the confluence of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, the lakefront area invested 4 billion US dollars to rebuild, which will include 4,950 homes, 1,500-room hotel, 2.2 million square feet of commercial space, 770000 square feet of retail space and an elementary school. The landscape architect participated in the early overall planning of the project, and at the same time helped the project team to plan the open space and guide the later planning and park development.
