Odaesan National Park

Odaesan National Park was established in 1975 and passes through Jinbu-myeon and Doam-myeon in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, and Pyeongchang-gun. Wutai Mountain (with an area of 298.5 square kilometers) is named after the five platforms of Manyuetai, Changling Terrace, Qilin Terrace, Xiangsantai and Zhigongtai. The main peak of Mount Wutai is Pilu Peak with a height of 1563 meters, and in the southwest there are peaks such as Xiaotai Mountain, Huling Peak and Xiaoxifang Mountain. In the east, it is connected to Shangwang Peak and Toulao Peak, and is famous for its lofty mountains with a height of more than 1,000 meters. These high mountains form a terrain that surrounds the plain, and the five major streams of the Bukhan River form deep and steep valleys between them and flow south. The Zhenling sag between Dongtai Mountain and Lao Lao Peak forms a watershed between the Five Great Rivers and the Liangu River. Jinling passes along the five rivers and the Liangu river, forming a channel connecting the east coast area. The representative temple of Wutai Mountain is Yuejing Temple, which is named after the bright moonlight on the full moon platform of Dongtai Mountain. There are the famous octagonal nine-story stone pagoda (National Treasure 48) and stone-made Bodhisattva Seated Treasure 139). In addition, the Quieting Treasure Palace of Woljeong Temple enshrines the relics of the Buddha's real body of Tszang. Walk eastward for about 5 kilometers along the fir trees of Woljeongsa Temple, and then go up to the historical site of Mount Wutai, where Lingjian Temple is built.
