The famous Ponte Vecchio with its many old jewelery shops
The famous Ponte Vecchio with its many old jewelery shops is sometimes beautiful to see with the river and buildings next to it. On the Arno river in the Piazza della Signoria is another fake statue o...
We walked on the bridge at the end of the day, so we got to see it with all its lights on: it was even more beautiful than we expected it to be. It’s an old bridge with a cobbled road, and the few sho...
A nice panoramic view from the middle of the bridge but not worth visiting as both sides of the entire bridge consist of JUST jewellery shops and a few cafes nearby. Quite dissapointing
You have to go there, you have to do the selfies. Also visit the neighbouring bridges and catch a sunrise or sunset pouring through the shops on the bridge.
Literally meaning "old bridge", Italians could have, perhaps, come up with a better name for what was to become one of the more iconic monuments in one of its most iconic cities. Nevertheless, this old bridge, which was only one of six spared by retreating Germans in 1944, is a monument to all that a monarch can accomplish. Once filled with butcher shops, which would dump their old/rotted animal carcasses into the river below, Grand Duke Fernandino I demanded that all butchers be replaced by goldsmiths-- thus ridding the bridge of its stench. Nowadays, rather than rotting animal carcass, Ponte Vecchio is the most golden spot in Italy. The bridge is lined with jewelry shops and vendors (careful, you'll likely encounter a scam or two) and is pleasant enough to walk down in the evening time, when it's not packed from end to end with the thousands of toursits who traverse the Arno over its cobblestones daily.
one of the most suggestive place in florence, timeless and breathtaking at anytime lf the day.
An iconic and beautiful bridge that everyone should se one day. It gets very crowded during the day, but if you go bright and early in the morning, you will have it all to yourself. The morning light is absolutely gorgeous on the river too!
This iconic bridge is chock full of jewelry stores from end to end. It appears that every tourist in Florence feels the need to cross it, so even on a rainy day you can hardly move. The best view of the bridge is to go to the next bridge on the river and take your photos posing with the bridge in the background.
One of the oldest bridge in the world,Unusual bridge full of shops of florentine hand made"gioielli"(golden, silver etc,)
Good looking bridge, a lot of beautiful accessorize on the bridge. Good icecream on the ends!
