Slope Point

After getting off the bus, it takes about 15 minutes to walk, and I see the signpost pointing at the equator while pointing to the Antarctic. The wild strange wind blows to people who can't stand up straight. Those wearing hats should pay attention to the hats. The long hair is best tied up. The scenery is beautiful and worth a visit.

This is the angle of the coast facing the south pole, and there is a wooden sign erected on the promontory, showing the distance from here to the equator and the south pole. This sign, although not beautiful, attracts countless tourists to the trip. This is the "slope angle", the southernmost corner of the southern hemisphere continent, away from the south pole. The seaside cliffs that are suddenly cut off are the characteristics of the slope angle. The unique landform is not enough to become the strange landscape of the slope angle. There are giant winds here, and giant winds from the south pole. In true geographical terms, the slope angle is the southernmost tip of the New Zealand mainland (latitude, the Stirling Point of Brave), and the Antarctic winds are smooth and unimpeded. Because of this special geographical location, the slope angle has been subject to strong winds all year round. In fact, the strange terrain here is also blown out by the never-ending Antarctic wind. So, there are flowers and trees, there is still smoke? There are still sheep here, and you have to pass a private farm to go to the slope corner. However, the trees here are not wild, but locals "afforestation" to help herds block the Antarctic winds. Over the years, the trees were blown one by one by the Antarctic winds, becoming veritable "crooked trees". (Figure 4) It takes 20 minutes to walk from the slope parking lot to the slope corner attraction, and you need to cross a private farm grassland path. In fact, this is a private farm, and the owner's farm gate is free for tourists. In the 9-10 month ewes breeding season, the farm path will be closed for 2 months. (Figure 2-3)
