What people are saying:

The Waianapana State Park, which is less visited by tourists, also has very beautiful scenery. We came here to see the black beaches, caves and so on. There are towering trees everywhere, and endless sea views in the distance, which is quite good

    Best beach and picnic experience

We loved this beach! Beautiful rock formations, a cave and a blowhole surround this amazing beach with black sand. We swam in the ocean and had a picnic in the picnic area with the most amazing view...

    Different

Ok if you are not from Hawaii you have to pay a fee and make a reservation. The major attraction is the black sand beach, a sight to be hold.

    Did you get a reservation?

Make sure you have a reserved time slot or 2? You could easily spend a day here- make sure you find the lava tubes! We missed them and missed some of the history of the area. The black sand beach is a...

    Black sandbeach

Must have reservation and they are very serious about it! Nice trail leads to better views. Public restrooms. The black sand is beautiful and rare. Would say this is a must stop along Hana highway.

    A stop worth making

We stopped here for lunch on our Road to Hana drive (we went the full way around). The beach and rocks are awe-inspiring. Note that during COVID advance reservations were necessary.
