Visiting the Hummingbird Nature Reserve in Yereette, I learned a lot about Hummingbirds, and I hope to improve everyone's awareness of Hummingbird protection through this travel photography! [About hummingbirds] hummingbirds are small in size and most of their colors are bright. The most special thing is that they can hover in the air by quickly flapping their wings, and the flight speed is fast, and they can reach 1 km per hour. Most hummingbirds today live in tropical and subtropical regions of 10° north-25° south latitude. [Hummingbird survival] Because the hummingbird's feathers are colorful, so in the 19th century, European and American women commonly used hummingbird feathers to make hats, and merchants bought hummingbird skins, which posed a great threat to the survival of hummingbirds. Hummingbirds have high requirements for habitat, and now, with the development of forest logging and farming, pesticide use, many hummingbirds rely on habitat destruction, bringing some hummingbird species to the risk of extinction. Today, all hummingbird species are listed on the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species and are not allowed to trade. [How to protect hummingbirds] Minimize pesticide use or use organic pesticides, and no pesticides can be used around hummingbird habitats. Donations can be made to the Hummingbird Conservation Organization to support the development of Hummingbird habitat protection. Hummingbirds sometimes fly into closed environments by mistake, and if they are trapped, we can catch them and release them outdoors. When the Hummingbirds are caught in their hands, the Hummingbirds will remain quiet until they are released.
