Cape Roca Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Take a look at the end of the world from Lisbon to Cape Roca
"Roca" means rock in Portuguese.
The famous Portuguese poet Camões's famous verse "The land ends here, the sea begins here" originated from here.
"Onde a terra acaba e o mar começa"
.

🗺️On the world map, the territory of Portugal is like a barge moored at the edge of the European continent, and Cape Roca is that beautiful porthole.
🌊Listening to the waves crashing on the shore here, watching the sunset and sunset, you will think of the lighthouse keepers who accompanied the deep breath of the Atlantic day and night, looking forward to the day and night, hoping that the explorers who are sailing far away can bring new hope to this soon-to-be-fallen kingdom one day.
🇵🇹The Catholic monument faces the blue Atlantic, with the geographical coordinates of the westernmost point of the European continent engraved on it, and that verse that has been passed down through the ages, interpreting the Iberian Peninsula's deep affection for the sea.

Cape Rocca: the westernmost point of continental Europe.
Some people say that this is the place where life must go once.
The famous poem of the Portuguese poet Carmons: "Onde a terra acaba e o mar comea". Because of this sentence, I not only went once - the first time was sunset, the second was sunny morning. The hovering of the
Atlantic is enough to reminiscent of the Portuguese fleet that once smashed the sea.
🇵🇹 Cape Roca, the Westernmost Pt of Europe
Cabo da Roca or Cape Roca is a cape which forms the westernmost point of continental Europe. It is about 20 km and 30 minutes drive from Sintra. The cape is famous for its spectacular steep cliffs rising 140m above the Atlantic Ocean. On the highest point of Cabo da Roca stands a 22-m lighthouse built in 1772.
It was very windy at the cliff during our visit. We also witnessed an approaching storm over the sea. Keep in mind not to climb over the fences as there have been a few accidents in the past where people fell to death while taking photos near the cliffs.

The most Western point in Europe !!!!
#timetotravel
I took a train from Lisbon to Sintra, and then took bus number 1253 from Sintra to Cabo da Roca. The public transport is not very difficult to navigate.
Since Cabo da Roca is along the coast, when I visited it was very windy so always bring a jacket along even if you are visiting during summer.
Worth coming to if you are already planning a visit to National Palace of Pena in Sintra!!!

PLS visit during golden hour 🌅😍🇵🇹
#timetotravel
We visited in the late afternoon and managed to catch the golden hour, it was so magical!! 🌅
We took the train from Lisbon to Sintra and called an uber to drive up to the National Palace of Peña, from what I recalled, ubers in Portugal were not very expensive.
There is an entrance fee of around $120 HKD but it was so worth it to visit. The red and yellow exterior of the palace is stunning 😍 and this makes the palace unique from other palaces I have seen!!
The National Palace of Peña is situated at the top of the peak, therefore it offers a panoramic view of Sintra which is a plus!!

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Must Visit Lisbon 🇵🇹 Pena Palace
We arrived at the Park/garden at 9:20AM on Sunday (the gardens open at 9AM) There was already a line of people buying tickets and a line of people entering the park. Although the line to get into the park was very quick, since security just needed to scan our tickets.
📍Do yourself a favor buy your tickets online, you don't need to choose a date when you are just visiting the park and outer terraces.
📍No need to buy a shuttle bus ticket, the line is longer than the walk up itself. It's a pretty easy up hill walk, that takes about 10-15 minutes.
📍It's a bit tricky to buy tickets for the garden & outer terraces online. But It is worth your money and there is no wait to walk around the outer terraces!
📍I would highly recommend coming to the gardens when they open at 9AM before the line of people starts. When we were leaving the castle terraces, the line was super long around 10:15AM
After visiting the castle terraces, we walked around the garden. There are some nice viewpoints like Elizabeth's hights. We went to the farm area, but we didn't see any animals which was disappointing.
If you follow these tips you will also have a nice trip like we did.
Pena Palace, a fairytale palace in Sintra
#newyearadventure
The Park and National Palace of Pena in Sintra is one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe.
The palace was built on top of Serra de Sintra on the site of a former monastery built in the 16th century. In 1838 the monastery was acquired by King Fernando II. He was the main driving force behind the construction of Pena Palace by refurbishing the old buildings and constructing a new wing. The palace served as a summer palace for the royal family.
Be prepared to send at least 2 hours there as the palace is huge and if you have time you should also spend some time at the beautiful park around the palace. Buy your tickets online to save 5% and save time queuing at the gate.

Sophie's Portuguese Tour Sintra Hotel
Sintra is located 20 km west of Lisbon, Portugal. Its entire coastline is facing west, and the hotel on the coastline is really the best place to watch the sunset.
Recommend to you a self-driving hotel, Arribas Sintra Hotel, located on the Praia Grande beach in Sintra, facing the Atlantic Ocean. The large open-air swimming pool below the hotel uses recycled sea water and is therefore environmentally friendly in 2018. prize.
The rooms in the hotel are all facing the sea. Although the area is not large, it feels quite new and clean. The most comfortable is the public rest area, facing the sea, the sofa is very comfortable.
Buffet breakfast for 12 Euros, although not expensive, you can actually buy juice and croissants on the other side and only need 3 Euros.
Summer is estimated to be very hot and expensive, but after the autumn, the weather is cool, the price per night is less than 500 RMB, the price is quite high, and the parking is free.
Azenhas do Mar Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
🇵🇹🏝️ Beach Day near Lisbon‼️🥰
#beachaholic
Enjoy a beach day at Azenhas do Mar, near Lisbon, Portugal!
Nestled along the rugged coastline of Portugal, this picturesque village boasts a captivating beach experience. With its stunning cliffs and cascading whitewashed houses, Azenhas do Mar is a sight to behold. Immerse yourself in the refreshing waters of the Atlantic Ocean, or simply relax on the SANDY SHORES, taking in the breathtaking views. 🌅 The charm of this coastal gem is undeniable, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 🌴🌊 Personally, it is definitely an unforgettable beach journey and it created cherished memories for my trip in Portugal!
The most beautiful fishing village in the European continent, azenhas do mar
Portuguese Vaandarusia traditional architecture, built along the mountain, climbing up and down, white walls, covered with red or yellow-brown tiles. Simple and elegant. Stone steps, winding paths, iron street lights, intricate balconies, flowers and red leaves... Everything here is so old and quiet, it feels like time and space. On the sun-drenched road, visit the labyrinth of the oldest medieval fishing village, follow the flowers and fragrances, and every turn is a surprise. In the distance, the sky and the sky, the snow and the snow, look down. At the foot of the abyss, it is dizzying. In such a beautiful village, it is also a kind of happiness to be lost!
This beautiful and small village in the middle of the city, near the capital of Lisbon, the southern part of Portugal, due to the network, travel books There are few records and introductions on the top, and the language is unreasonable. Therefore, it is rarely disturbed by tourists. It has not changed for many years. It is not a wide road. It is covered with fine stones, and it has a quiet light, just like the ancient houses here. Lanes, corners, picturesque surroundings, harmonious humanities and folk customs, rich natural beauty, are so protected and preserved. As time goes by, the residents here can cherish and protect this millennium. Quiet and serene, this ancient land is more and more precious.
Sophie's Portuguese travel Praia das Azenhas do Mar fishing village restaurant
drive from Sintra to Cabo da Roca, along the long coastline, where Praia das Azenhas do Mar, Praia in Portugal In the language is the meaning of the beach, Azenhas do Mar is the name of this beach.
This tourist is almost extinct on the beach, there is also a superb restaurant, built on the edge of the sea cliff, it is already more than 2 pm, thanks to the Europeans who are not diligent, the restaurant Not many guests can arrange to sit on the first floor, the second floor is to directly contact the sun, too sun!
The door has been attracted by the crab shell in the freezer at the door. I asked the clerk that it was a crab-shell crab salad. Hurry up. Of course, I want to eat seafood in Portugal, and then order lobster cream risotto, green mouth cream pasta, octopus salad, facing such a beautiful sea view, all the food tastes 100 points.
