About Copenhagen

Copenhagen is the capital city of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is a city that does a perfect job of combining classical antiquity with modern life. People have given Copenhagen honorable names such as "the Paris of Northern Europe", as the city holds many palaces, castles and other examples of ancient architecture. The whole place is completely suffused with an artistic atmosphere. As you stroll down the streets, you will see more statues than you can possibly count, along with art centers and museums. One of the city's main attractions is the Little Mermaid statue. It is located at Copenhagen's beautiful seaside promenade, Langelinie. In fact, author Hans Christian Andersen spent more than half of his life in Copenhagen and many of his most famous works were penned here.

The Little Mermaid
483 Reviews
Copenhagen's most famous tourist attraction, the Little Mermaid sits on a rock overlooking the harbour. Created by Edward Eriksen in 1913 who was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale. The model for the Mermaid was dancer Ellen Price. The statue's head was stolen in 1964 and although police hunted for several years, neither the perpetrator nor the head were found. The head has been replaced by a replica but jokers still occasionally try to saw it off.

When you come to Copenhagen, Newport is one of the frequent attractions for tourists. It is a famous bar street. The colorful old houses on the banks, the beer houses and restaurants lined up here, and the wooden boats with masts in the canals make the new port a place to taste the Copenhagen atmosphere. There is no shortage of historical celebrities' homes, and it was once the place where Andersen lived. Andersen once wrote a fairytale story about the population.

Historical Architecture
Amalienborg Palace is the place where the Danish royal family lived and the royal palace. When Christian VII ruled in 1794, a fire broke out in Christiansburg, causing members of the royal family to migrate to Amerinburg for refuge. Subsequently, Frederick V decided to build this into a Rococo-style building. To commemorate the king, people built the equestrian statue of Frederick V, which stands in the center of the octagonal square of the palace.

Trip Moments

The Little Mermaid, the symbol of Copenhagen, arrived in Copenhagen, and the Little Mermaid is a must-see attraction. It was created by Danish sculptor Edward Eriksson according to Andersen's Fairy Tales, only 1.5 meters high. On the way, I will see a beautiful park. Basically, people who are with you all go to see the little mermaid. Despite being psychologically prepared, I was shocked by the number of tourists. Surely, many people had to line up to take photos with the statue. Under the clear blue sky, the mermaid of the human fishtail sits on a granite, very quiet and beautiful. However, in the morning, it has more backlighting. It is recommended that friends who want to take pictures will come in the afternoon.
