Classic Architecture
One of the prettiest areas of town, this square is near the waterfront and occupies a flat area next to the old city. Some classic Mediterranean architecture here, cafes are near.
Just as I had pictured it
Large beautifully kept wide open green space, so welcome after the shuffling crowds in the narrow streets, which were not unexpectedly filled with a lot of tat, interspersed with more interesting shop...
Public space
Large grassy public park, which connects the Old Town to the Old Fortress. Nice to stroll through and soak up the atmosphere.
The heart of Corfu
Spiannada square is the throbbing heart of the city, it is located in the Old Town and links the historic Liston with the Old Fortress. A great place to people watch.
Size matters
This is the biggest plaza/esplanade in all of Greece and it deserves its well-earned bragging rights. And, it is really attractive! It connects the Old Fortress to the Old Town via the Liston promen...
