Kayangan Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
BEAUTIFUL CORON! 🤍
Kayangan Lake is a crystal-clear freshwater lake in Coron, featuring underwater rock formations, caves and islets. It’s a popular spot for photographers, for fairly obvious reasons, and is said to be the cleanest lake in all of the Philippines. The water is so clear that you can often see down to a depth of 10 metres, enabling even non-swimmers to see the untouched rock formations from viewpoints around the lake.
Kayangan Lake in Palawan - one of the highlights of our Island Hopping Tour in Coron, Palawan. You shouldn’t missed this!

Twin Lagoon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Immerse Yourself in Nature's Beauty: Twin Lagoon, Coron! 🌴🌅
Come and experience the beauty of the Philippines in Coron's Twin Lagoon. This breathtaking destination offers stunning turquoise waters, towering limestone cliffs, and a unique experience of swimming through a hidden passage that connects two lagoons.
The most beautiful sea-to-lake in the Philippines, comparable to the Maldives in beauty.
The Philippines, as a popular island destination in the South Pacific, attracts countless tourists with its beautiful island scenery. With over 7,000 islands, 90% of which are uninhabited, the biggest feature of these islands is the surrounding mountains and unique landscapes, resembling "Guilin on the sea". They are far from the hustle and bustle, peaceful and charming, and fascinating.
Coron Island in the Philippines was designated as a world fish and wildlife conservation area in 1967 due to its excellent marine ecological environment. The waters here have over 600 species of coral reefs, ranking first in the world. It has been named one of the "Top 10 Popular Diving Spots in the World" by many well-known travel magazines and websites, becoming a dream destination for countless divers.
When you come to Coron Island as a regular tourist, you don't necessarily have to dive deep to explore the beautiful underwater world. There are many surrounding islands with hidden lakes that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Twin Lagoons is a popular snorkeling spot among tourists, with beautiful and colorful underwater scenery, excellent water quality, high visibility, and many schools of fish.
Twin Waterfalls Lake, one big and one small, are two freshwater lakes connected to the ocean but very hidden, located between the ocean and the mountains, with only a 2-meter-long rock cave connecting them. To enter here, one must stop the boat in the middle of the sea, hold their breath and swim through the underwater cave from the bottom of the sea, making it a fascinating "utopia on the sea".
Twin Waterfalls Lake showcases the amazing work of nature. Surrounded by karst peaks and connected to the sea, the lake water is fresh and swimming here allows one to feel the temperature changes. However, beneath the surface lies a mysterious unknown world that is both thrilling and frightening.
Twin Lagoon boasts a beautifully preserved underwater world, making it perfect for snorkeling and diving. Here, you can get up close and personal with schools of fish and coral, and even spot sea urchins on the lake bed. What's even more amazing is that compared to pure freshwater lakes, Twin Lagoon's water has incredibly strong buoyancy, allowing people to float on the surface and fully enjoy the joy brought by seawater and sunshine.
At the foot of a rocky mountain in a corner of Shuangzi Xie Lake, there is a small wooden house, which is the residence of the Shuangzi Xie Lake administrator and also the "ticket office" of the lake. The ticket aunt usually paddles a canoe and charges per person per boat, 100 pesos each. Working in such a beautiful environment really makes people a little envious. #First trip of 2023 #Outdoor fun #These domestic islands are awesome.

Barracuda Lake in Coron Palawan
Barracuda Lake, situated on the north shore of Coron Island in the Philippines.
This lake is also commonly referred to as the “craziest dive site in the Philippines.” The lake was named Barracuda due to discovering a giant barracuda skeleton within its waters. Keep in mind that the barracuda still occupy these waters, and it is likely that you will encounter them.
Barracuda Lake can be reached by renting a boat or getting a tour package from resorts based in Coron Town on Busuanga Island. You can also book in advance from various tour operators that offer Coron Island Hopping tours.
Dive Heaven - El Nido + Coron
✈️Getting There -
Take the plane to Puerto Princesa and take a van to El Nido. From El Nido, take a boat to Coron
🤿Attractions - One of the best dive sites in the Philippines. The Barracuda Lake in Coron is a surreal lake with a legend of a lonely barracuda. The water temp gets warm as you descent. There are also tons of wreck around Coron, if you love wreck diving, it’s the perfect diving destination for you. Plenth of travel agency there that offers island hopping day trip, we explored some really divine island through the trips, you can bargain for a better price with the agent.
Hotels - Hotel is cheap, we didn’t book in advance, so lots of hotel and hostels were full during the time. So we settled for somewhere that’s more basic and affordable, but the environment are clean, if you’d like to stay somewhere nice. making sure you book it before you go.
🍽️Food & Restaurants - Plenty of diner and restaurant along the beaches. Food are good, but the it’s more pricey than expected. The was a shisha place off the beach which nice and hip ambiance, highly recommended.

Mount Tapyas Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Best place for sunrise/sunset in Coron!
#2023travelwish
Mount Tapyas viewdeck is a must if you are in Coron. It has seven hundred something steps to climb to get to the top. It is an excellent short morning hike for the sunrise or late afternoon hike in time for the sunset. You get an absolutely beautiful panoramic view of the town and the sea. There are also signs you can take photos in front of. If you walk a bit towards the back of the hill, it opens up to another stunning landscape.
This hill is also very easily accessible as it is right in the middle of the town proper. To add a cherry on top, there is a great cafe at the base of the hill which is a great reward for after the hike.

Mount Tapyas is the window to see the entire coron. This steep hill requires energy as it takes more than 700 steps to get to the top. Once you are at the top, it overlooks the entire coron and you can see everything. It’s good to come here before sunset as the view is breathtaking. On the other side is a lush green slope that reminds you of an epic movie. So make sure to add this on your list when in coron.
