St. Patrick's Cathedral is located on the west side of the south bank of the River Liffey in Dublin. In the fourth century AD, Patrick, a Christian, was canonized as a saint by the Irish because of his outstanding missionary achievements. He is said to have been baptized and converted to Christianity by an ancient well here. The clock tower on the west side of the church was completed in 1370 and still retains a relatively large clock in Ireland.
