Cowichan Valley Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Duncan Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
After breakfast, visit the "Totem City" Duncan City - an important symbol of Canadian Aboriginal culture, a representative of the Aboriginal traditional cultural center, full of Indian colors. The simple and magical totem pole inherits the ancient civilization of the Aboriginal people of Canada, and records the historical events and loves of nature that the tribes have passed down from generation to generation. Each totem pole is a story that reflects the richness and expressiveness of Aboriginal artists.
Duncan City's urban tourism and sightseeing details are doing well, the direction of the footprints on the ground guides you to the sights. The town is closed for all shops on Sundays. Very suitable for living in a small town.
Merridale Eatery Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Merridale Cidery is the only apple winery on Vancouver Island. There are not only apple orchards and brewing workshops, but also large lawns, souvenir shops and well-respected restaurants. Several yurt-style hotel rooms - the estate is also a popular resort and wedding venue.
The apple orchard in the winery seems to be no different from the common ones in the country, except that the ground is covered with red fruits. This apple used for making wine does not go to the tree for picking, but When they are naturally mature, they will be collected and cleaned, juiced and then brewed.
After visiting the cider brewing process, the owner of the winery, Janete, took us to the bar in the distillation room the wine tasting that I most expected was on schedule. Cider is a good pre-dinner drink with a refreshing, slightly sweet taste and a good appetite. Meridian's ciders have different tastes, and the food used for the sake - snacks, cheese and ham are also different.
In addition to the basic cider, Meridian's "Cowichan Spirit" series also includes gin, vodka, apple brandy, cognac... The 43-degree gin is not hot. Special smooth, with a distinct fruity aroma.
The little brother of the wine is very much like Yusuf, his expression is super rich, and he will create an atmosphere. These wines have undergone multiple cultivations, fading away the original form of the fruit, and the mellowness of the mouth and nose.
Villa Eyrie Resort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
As an Ending trip in the Cowichan Valley, the night at Villa Eyrie Resort is perfect. Although the well-known mineral pools have not been able to travel, the sights and landscapes here are amazing.
The room I stayed in didn't have a large terrace that I was coveted in my fellow room, but because the resort is located at the Malahat Summit, the south facing window of the room can also face it. The Saanich Inlet is awkward, and when you have dinner, the view of the restaurant terrace is even more invincible.
There are several excellent medieval convertibles parked in front of the resort lobby for rent to hotel guests. If you have enough time, rent this red Alfa Romeo convertible and enjoy the car at the Malahat Summit where the resort is located.
When I left Villa Eyrie Resort the next morning, it was just dawning. In the hotel parking lot, I could clearly see the lights in the suburbs of Victoria in the east and the intoxicating posture of Mount Baker.
Lake Cowichan Lodge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A fantastic vacation to youbou Van Isl
A beautiful summer day in youbou Vancouver Island
Was super lucky to sit at the beach side in Lake Cowichan, and see an elk walk right up to where we were sitting and graze on the grass. Couldn’t ask for a better day.
Kinsol Trestle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The Kinsol Trestle has a ten-minute walk from the parking lot to the bridge. The trail runs between the dense forests - this road was originally a railway, but it was abandoned. You can also see the old sleepers in the yard.
The Golden Soul Viaduct in the Cowichan Valley is an old-fashioned and oversized architectural style that I particularly like, with a length of more than 182 meters and 15 from the highest point of the valley below the bridge. The floor is so high, all built from wood you know that the bridge built a hundred years ago is used to get through the train!
Now I can't hear the sound of the rumble of the train. Here you can hear every bird in the forest. When I was taking pictures on the railing, a pair of old people rode bicycles from the front and raised their hands and said hello to meyes, this bridge is now a paradise for hikers and cyclists.
