This church was started in February 1923 and was designed by the French priest Louis Vallet. The church was opened on March 10, 1924. It was the only Catholic church built locally during the French colonial period. On January 8, 1963, the Dagang Diocese established and upgraded it to the main church. The architectural style is Gothic and the whole church looks so big. The church is now a religious place which is visited by more than 4,000 Catholics in the area. The candy-like pink building is almost resembles a symbol of Da Nang. The medieval-style painted large glass windows contrast with the pink look and are so beautiful and lovely which compliment the place. Like all Catholic churches, the Da Nang Cathedral is also holy and serene. The light pink facade is like a candy, and the seven towering spires are erected with a cross. Five pointed arches are built, usually with side doors only.
