About Daishan

Daishan County in Zhejiang Province is under the jurisdiction of Zhoushan City. The county is located on Zhejiang’s northern coast, around the central region of the Zhoushan Islands along the fringe of Hangzhou Bay. The area is rich in ocean resources and has a wide variety of seafood. The county has beautiful mountain and ocean scenery and is an ideal vacation spot for seafood connoisseurs. Some attractions in the county include Guanyin Mountain, Shalong Beach, Sanxing Lighthouse, and Moxin Mountain.

Dongsha Ancient Town is found at the northwestern end of Daishan Island, north of the Bohai Sea, east of Daidong Town, and south of Gaoting and Daixi. The Great Bay is surrounded to the west and the east close to the Xishajiao, Nianmuao, and Shahekou, and creates a half circle in the edge of the mountain. The town is situated in the eastern corner of the Great Bay which is known as "Dongshajiao", the town is named after it. There are the Dongying Mountains, Dazhaizi Mountains and Xiaozhaizi Mountains in the territory. The terrain is tall in the south and low in the north, and the climate is temperate in winter and cool in summer.

Lulan Qingsha Scenic Area is located beneath the Lulan Mountains on the main island of Daishan, for which it bears the name. It's one of the Ten Penglai Sights of ancient times, and a natural large sea side spa and beach activity center. The entire scenic area is comprised of Lulan Qingsha beach, Xufu Pavilion, Nailuo Mountain and Haitan. Going north or south from the Lulan Qingsha beach is a relatively long stretch of beach on the Jiangzhe coast. The beach is evenly sloped, broad, has big waves during high tides, with clear echoes and majestic aura. At low tide, the water is calm and peaceful. The sand is iron gray in color, while grains are fine and hard. Vehicles can be driven on the beach, which has been called an iron ladder with 10,000 steps.
