Anqing

Anqing is the first city the Yangtze River flows through in Anhui Province. It was formerly known as Huaining. There are many famous people who came from Anqing. These include the new cultural movement pioneer Chen Duxiu, the Beijing opera performer Cheng Changgeng, the novelist Zhang Henshui, the Huangmei Opera performance artist Yan Fengying, the nuclear weapons pioneer Deng Jiaxian, the acrobatic queen Xia Juhua, and many more. There are many famous mountains, rivers and cultural relics in Anqing. There is Tianzhu Mountain, a national scenic spot, Xuejiagang Cultural Relics, a nationally protected key cultural relic unit, and Yaoluping, a national-level nature reserve.
