Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is actually a collection of churches and cemeteries (royal and some celebrities). The building is magnificent and the interior is well maintained. It is worth seeing. The ticket purchased on Trip.com is convenient to use. Just scan the QR code at the entrance of the church to enter. There are too many people. Queues for an hour to enter. The church provides free Chinese voice interpreters.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is a must-visit for history lovers, featuring stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. The official residence of the British monarch, it dates back to 1703 and serves as the venue for royal ceremonies and events. Visitors can enjoy a glimpse into royal life, with the Changing of the Guard being a popular attraction.

London Eye

This time I brushed it twice. This time I took my family to sit together. It felt really good overlooking half of London and the Thames. The only fly in the ointment was that the weather was not good enough, and the scenery was too far from sunny and cloudy.

The British Museum

I strongly recommend at least one day at the British Museum. We arranged a visit to the British Museum on the last day of our 10-day tour of the UK. We found that the three hours we arranged were too little. Fortunately, we participated in the tour group of Teacher Bilan. Through the wonderful explanation of the teacher, we learned a lot of the history and origin of the cultural relics that were previously vague. Let us have a vivid humanities and history lesson at the British Museum. We saw the long-awaited Ru kiln and Tang Sancai, and witnessed the exquisite memory of Chinese historical relics. Teacher Bilan also uploaded a few photos of the Ru kiln after the team ended, which allowed me to retain a precious memory and beautiful photos despite the regret.

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is one of London’s most iconic landmarks. The combination of Victorian engineering and Gothic architecture makes it a must-visit. Walking across the glass floor is thrilling, and the exhibition inside provides fascinating historical insights. Whether you admire it from the banks of the Thames or take a tour inside, it’s an unforgettable experience.

Royal Observatory Greenwich

Season (6-9 month): Sunny, is the peak season for British tourism, various art festivals and activities are colorful. Spring and autumn season: wet and rainy, relatively low comfort. Winter (11-2 month): less sunny days, low temperature, not suitable for outdoor activities, it is recommended to avoid. Transport trains in the UK: convenient and comfortable, suitable for short trips. Self-driving: high degree of freedom, suitable for long-distance travel. 🔹 Greenwich Observatory 🚢 Katisaker: It is said that there are some records related to China on the ship. If time is tight, a day pass is a good choice. Historical records: The Observatory has preserved the deeds, measurement instruments and daily life records of successive astronomers. The Royal Greenwich Observatory is not only a scientific shrine, but also a place full of history and seafaring stories. Here you can feel the power of science up close, from the rise of the steam engine to the end of the great seafaring era to the invention of computers and the development of network technology, scientific progress never stopped.

It is a nice Sightseeing walking along the river Thames. You can see most of the relevant sites following down the river.

Thames River Cruise

We bought a one-way ticket from Greenwich back to Westminster, enjoying the Thames scenery and various bridges, and finally disembarked at Big Ben. The fare is not expensive, and the boat is equipped with English explanations, which is worth seeing overall.

The National Gallery

a great art gallery right by Trafalgar Square. gorgeous building with a variety of art works to enjoy including 3 Van Gogh paintings. not huge if you aren’t doing the paid exhibits also but a nice way to spend an hour or so. cloak room available for £2 per item but you can leave your bag there for as many hours as needed, as long as you collect by closing time. cafe and toilets available (although we didn’t use as the queues were huge!). staff were very friendly and nice.

Phantom of The Opera
