Next on the map, we headed to Jama' Masjid in Fatehpur Sikri. The complex was built during Moghul Emperor Abu'l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar reign in 1571-1575.

I love the bricks, calligraphy, the ornamental decorations and just about everything. It reminds so much about the Hindustan film I watched on tv screen.

Fatehpur Sikri was the first planned city of the Mughals to be marked by magnificent administrative, residential, and religious buildings comprises of palaces, public buildings, mosques, and living areas for the court, the army, the servants of the king and an entire city.

Public is still using this mosque to offer their Friday prayers.

What People Are Saying About Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri Fort

闲来有趣
Fatehpur Sikri, which originally meant "Victory City", was built in the second half of the 16th century and is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. The site has many distinctive temples and a magnificent and luxuriously decorated palace, which prominently reflects the brilliant achievements of Mughal civilization. Over the past thousand years, each building tells a story of its own era... Modern India has traditional marble carving art and very cultural hotels, but most people earn between 300 and 600 yuan per month. The whole society is a very strange mixture.

The Victory Gate is located in Fatehpur Sikri and is built on a 54-meter high platform. There are 42 steps, and the steps made of red sandstone are very steep. It can be said to be the highest and most impressive entrance in Asia.

A must do trip! Would recommend thoroughly - go at sunrise for beautiful views and fewer crowds. Can’t wait to go back one day

Keoladeo National Park

Kirrade National Park is also a very large ancient park-style building. The vegetation resources in the park are very rich, with a large number of plants and forests. The visit here is also quite interesting and requires a tour guide.

Panch Mahal

There are many places in the fort to gain insight into the culture of the times, and Akbar's three wives have their own palaces, and the site was abandoned because there was not enough reliable water supply. The maid building is a building inside, and for the entire vast complex, so the guide is important and will tell you the history of each building.
