Standing on a rocky promontory (Le Rocher), the Prince’s Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the ruling Prince of Monaco. The castle has been the home of the Grimaldi dynasty since the end of the 13th century. The Palais de Monaco occupies a unique and spectacular geological site, facing the Mediterranean Sea at the foot of the Alps. Another fun fact to know that although Monaco has existed since ancient times, it wasn’t until 1191 that a residence was built – initially as a fortress of the Genoese granted by the German Emperor Henry IV to protect the coastline from pirates.

Monaco might be small, but it is perfectly formed. The Principality of Monaco lies on the Mediterranean sea and is bordered by France, with Italy also within easy reach. Monte Carlo is often mistaken for the capital of Monaco, but it’s actually one of the four government districts. The advantage of its compact size, at 1.95 square kilometers, is that it’s very easy to explore. Here are our top tips on what to do in Monaco for a day. Having said that, there’s so much to see that you might well want to stay longer. 1. Monte Carlo Opera House 2. Monte Carlo Cathedral 3. The Prince’s Palace 4. Formula One 5. Gardens in Monaco 6. Yachts in Monaco 7. Monaco Oceanographic Museum 8. Monaco Top Cars Collection

#celebratewithtrip #monaco #montecarlo #museum Visit the Oceanographic Museum At the end of the Saint Martin Gardens you will be able to see the Oceanographic Museum. From what we read, this is very similar to SEA LIFE London Aquarium and we didn’t feel like visiting on this occasion. If you haven’t been to a place like this before or if you are visiting Monaco with kids, then the Oceanographic Museum might just be the right thing for you. The Oceanographic Museum is a museum of marine sciences in Monaco-Ville, Monaco. This building is part of the Institut océanographique, which is committed to sharing its knowledge of the oceans.

#celebratewithtrip #monaco #montecarlo Saint Martin Gardens As you make your way down, take a moment to enjoy the beautiful Gardens of St Martin and the amazing views towards sea. The Jardin St. Martin are located in the Monaco-Ville ward of Monaco. The gardens are made up of a series of paths on the south west face of the Rock of Monaco. They have an estimated area of 11,200 square meters. Beautiful and peaceful garden, right near the Oceanographic Museum. one interesting attraction is the statue with two heads.
