Following the Rhythm of Nuremberg for Three Days

When the city gets too noisy, I escape to the island.
On the night of August 29, inside the Gulangyu Organ Art Center, the Casavant Opus 700—13 meters tall, with 7,341 pipes, dormant for a century and now reborn—will be fully awakened once again.
The person playing the keys is no ordinary musician—Matthias Maierhofer, professor of organ at the Freiburg University of Music in Germany, winner of the Pachelbel Competition at the Nuremberg International Organ Week, and a soloist who has performed across Europe, America, and Asia. As his hands touch the keys, the solemnity of the English chancel organ and the brightness of the French gallery organ will pour out simultaneously, as if the entire Bagua Building is breathing.
No need to get a visa to visit a European cathedral; just take a ferry, walk for a few minutes, and for the 7:30 PM show, at the price of CNY 90—cheaper than a trendy cup of coffee—you can experience an exclusive soundscape of the "King of Instruments." The sweat of late summer, the red notification dots on your phone, and your Monday to-do list will all be pressed into the wooden floor by the low frequencies.
