Qujing is situated in the east of Yunnan province. It has a varied landscape and diverse culture with a range of ethnic minorities including Yi, Zhuang, Miao and Yao. Qujing is also the birthplace of the ancient Cuan culture, named after the Cuan family that ruled the area for centuries. Major attractions include the source of the Pearl River, Cuan era artifacts, Qianfo Pagoda and the Jiulong Waterfalls.
