Shifang, a county-level city in Deyang, Sichuan, is located in the heart of Sichuan’s Chengdu Plain. Shifang is a famous city in Sichuanese history and culture. This is where the famous Qin-era (221-206 BCE) hydrologist Li Bing mastered the local waters and passed away. Shifang is also the ancient home of Ma Daoyi, one of the Eight Patriarchs of Southern Chan Buddhism.
