Islamic art is an important cultural element of the Middle East countries. As an artistic and cultural landmark of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art is the place to visit in Doha. Walking through the palm tree avenue at the door, you can see the building that is stacked by white limestone. Under the refraction of sunlight and waves, heaven, sea, light and shadow are perfectly integrated. The museum, on the artificial island outside the Doha coastline, is designed by a Chinese-born designer, Mr Pei Ming, a 91-year-old designer. The building is constructed from typical Islamic styles, with complex geometric patterns, traditional arched doors and windows, and a large transparent glass curtain wall. The architecture, light and shadows are really the beauty of the whole building. The entire city of Doha can be seen from the yard, with a wide and comfortable view.
