Mangyeongdae Pavilion was built in 1613 during the reign of King Gwanghae of the old Joseon and is located on the east coast one kilometer east of Donghae City Hall. The rear pavilion was damaged by heavy rain and was rebuilt at Samcheok Kim's house about 60 years ago. The current pavilion is an excellent viewing point on the east coast, and can also see the vast pine forests in the north, the mountains and lawns of Duta in the west, and the scene of the Jeoncheon River flowing into the East Sea. It has a wide field of vision on all sides, and it is the place where literati and writers of all dynasties left their poems and poems.
