TodemmyWe took a drive through the Cleveland National Forest. There is a good diversity of scenery from chaparrel to pines. The towns are cute to visit. There is currently (March 2018) some road construction going on but there was minimal delays. There is nice hikes one can take as well. We visited in Spring time on a sunny warm day. As such, we had a delightful day.
TodemmyThere were no Fees. The view of Lake Champlain and the surrounding area from the gallery near the top of the lighthouse is wonderful, but you must be able to negotiate about 9 flights of stairs on a circular interior concrete staircase, and a short ladder at the top to reach it. There is an additional ladder leading to the cupola, but cupola access was locked. Ages 8+ would have no trouble reaching the gallery, but suggest not let under 12 go unless accompanied by adult. There is a concrete dock down from the lighthouse, but more stairs down and back up and not wheelchair friendly. I had hip replacement, but no trouble negotiating either by going slow.
Katie KatWashington park is by far one of my favorite parks in Albany. The amount of times I have been there I have never felt the emended crowding of people like you may in other parks around this erea. Their are many beautiful paths that you can take that really allows you to forget your are in the middle of a city. I definitely recommend anyone taking a trip over to Washington park, getting a little fresh air now and then really is an amazing feeling.
