My son is over 2 years old and I have never taken him to the zoo. He knew the bear from pictures, but he had never seen it with his own eyes; he knew tigers roared, but he never heard it; he saw the birds spread their wings, but he didn't know the eagle's clear sound. I discussed it with my wife and took my son to experience the snow-capped zoo in Tianshan.  When my son saw the first animal, the zebra, he was overcome with excitement and danced all around. As I watched him, I knew I had come to the right place. The splendor of the natural world and the animal species allows us to truly understand love and equality.
