Chaoyang Cave is at the foot of Laoxiaoding, Mount Qingcheng. There are currently one large and one small cave, both natural caves occurring under the cliff edge. During the Republican period, there was still a traditional temple here. The cave is deep, with drops of water dripping from the top down the steep cliffs. Within the cave is a Daoist temple. Legend has it that as the immortals achieved the Dao here, it has been a major Daoist temple since the Ming Dynasty, and it remains popular even today.
