The dark tower was so eye-catching that it was noticed a long way away because the black exterior made it stand out like a chicken. When I approached, the tower was actually very meticulous and complicated.
In the center of the monument stands a white marble statue of Scott, dressed in a robe and with his dog lying around him. The stairs to the tower are of choice, the narrower the upward, and the last person to pass is difficult.
The middle of Princes Street, Chao Street, Edinburgh, not far from the Waverley Railway Station. Scott is a big man, and the Scots have set up such a spectacular monument for literary artists, which is unforgettable. How to see how majestic, although the tower is not big.
The Scott Memorial Tower is located in Prince Street, Edinburgh. It was built in 1844 to commemorate the writer Scott. Scott is a famous British historical novelist and poet. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he suffered from polio at an early age and later became the forefather of English history and literature. The monument tower is 61.11 meters high, with Gothic architectural style. Four small spires arch the central tower. The bottom of the tower is surrounded by arches. In the center of the tower stands a statue of Scott in white marble. He wears a robe and lies beside his dog. All 64 heroes in his works are sculpted around the tower.
Because it's the place that I like in the movie cloud Atlas, I want to go, so I put Edinburgh on the schedule Although it's a pity that I can't go to the tower now, it's also very handsome at sunset!
Victorian Gothic architecture, the pavilion of Scott's statue is exquisite and clear, the whole memorial tower seems to draw on the form of the Buddhist pagoda, with the charm of the ancient East. The pavilion is covered with the typical western Gothic spires, exquisitely decorated in the huge and heavy Edinburgh streets. The pillars are hollow and can be climbed up. The stairs are divided into four sections and you can walk out of the tower to overlook the city of Edinburgh. The city centre Scott is a great tourist spot to see Edinburgh. The tower is only 60 meters tall and has 287 steps, divided into two sections, one in the column of the tower and the other narrower in the tower above.
The Scott Memorial Tower can be seen as soon as you get out of the train station! Majestic, remember to shoot at a low angle on this staircase :)
At night, when I arrived in Edinburgh, I was a little creepy at night and I was able to enjoy the unique charm ‼️
