Eilat Photos

Port in southern Israel. It was built on the narrow and flat coast of Palestine at the southern end of the Arabian Valley and the northern end of the Gulf of Aqaba, which is only 11 kilometers long. The urban area has extended to the north along the Arabian Valley. There is a large oil refinery, and there are oil pipelines leading to Ashkelon and Haifa on the Mediterranean coast. The Timna copper mine in the Arabian Valley is part of the city's economy. The winters are warm and the beaches, coral reefs and nearby Mount Eilat are beautiful. Every spring and autumn, a large number of migratory birds forage in the waters outside Eilat to supply nutrients. These migratory birds usually breed in Eurasia, travel to Africa for the winter in the fall, and return north the following spring. As the only bridge connecting the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa, Eilat in southern Israel has become a must for migratory birds, attracting tens of thousands of ornithologists and bird watchers to Eilat every year.
