The statue of the daughter of the Baltic Sea, also known as the bronze statue of Amanda, is a girl bronze statue located next to the flower market in the open-air market in Helsinki, Finland. The girl is called Amanda and is surrounded by four sea lions in the fountain. She crouched in the Gulf of Finland quietly, and was hailed as "the daughter of the Baltic Sea." The statue was built in 1906 in Paris and arrived in Helsinki in 1908. It is now one of the symbols of the city of Helsinki. On April 30th each year, Finnish college students will hold a grand hat-hat event next to the statue of Amanda.
