Filey Dams Nature Reserve

All round good birdwatching

You don't have to pay for parking or entry, it's run on donations, the hides were clean, there is lots of information about the birds, all in all, a great place for birdwatching.

A small nature reserve behind an estate

This marshland oasis makes a pleasant stroll around two lakes to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife. We just missed the owl and her chick at one of the nest boxes but saw gulls and ducks.

Interesting

We visit Filey Dams quite often and love the place, always interesting and relaxing at any time of year, we recently saw Spoonbills which was a treat, would recommend a visit.

Nice to visit

A lack of water is effecting the birdlife, but nice to have bird hides, but it would be nice to walk right round the water, it also has a wet area, we walked from central Filey, through a lovely estat...

a lovely calming walk with children

Walked the dams 4 out of 7 nights while staying in Filey. Had a lovely time and the kids enjoyed running around even if we should have been looking for the wildlife.
