If you are seeking true peace of mind and you are visiting Helsinki around the midsummer, I suggest you to visit the rhododendron park.
Those beautiful flowers bloom after the dark winter during the early summer. The blossom only lasts for a week so you have to time your visit according to the blossom. The best time is around the midsummer festival.
But if you time your visit right, you can have a chance to walk between those wonderful almost tree-sized rhododendron bushes that give their best to the people that have come to see the beauty of the nature. Walking in the park is easy because there are wooden platforms with hand reels to walk on. The place is also accessible to the older people and cars can be parked right next to the park.
This place is not known to most of the people visiting Helsinki. It’s located in Haaga district not far from the Helsinki-Tampere motorway. You can access the park by taking a train to the Huopalahti train station and walking 600 meters to the park. The address is: Laajasuontie 37, Helsinki.
if you feel like going to the nature and having a place to relax, you definitely need to go to Sarvikallio outdoor area in Tuusula, Finland.
The lake Tuusula is situated only a 30 minute car drive away from Helsinki. it has been nominated the provincial lake of the province surrounding Helsinki called Uusimaa. Sarvikallio outdoor area is situated on the southwest corner of the lake, near the district of Hyrylä in the town of Tuusula. The area also has a parking area for cars and signs from the nearby road, although it could be tricky to find the place without a navigator app.
There are many paths on which you can walk and enjoy the forest view. Paths vary from very short to medium distance walks but the hills are fairly steep in the area. The paths are well maintained and in excellent condition and also have places to stop for a little rest.
The most spectacular place in Sarvikallio is the barbecuing area with a breathtaking lake view. There are a few grills and wood provided by the town which are also in a very good condition. You can cook your food and enjoy the view but be careful not to fall down to the lake! There are NO protective fences so the barbecue are is also left in its natural condition without too much building. Anyway, the lake can be accessed using wooden stairs which were built in 2019.
For those who love the lake view and also enjoy the nature, I recommend you to pack a little food and go enjoying the Sarvikallio outdoor area! A different kind of beach vacation.
Do you ever have the feeling that you are hungry in the middle of the night? The Fizza-branded pizza-atm is at your service 24/7 in not far from Helsinki Kauniainen, Finland near the swimming hall. The menu consists of the most popular pizzas and I believe there’s something for every taste including the vegetarian options. The pizzas are only cooked after ordering them so you get a freshly baked pizza every time in 3 minutes only!
I tried the atm once and ordered three pizzas. Some of them were sold out but the guy filling up the pizzas just came after my order. The atm is regularly serviced so there’s usually no need to be disappointed.
So this is something we all pizza lovers of the world really waited for. And in addition, it’s kinda funny too. 😁😁 The prices are a little above normal pizza restaurant prices but hey, we don’t get pizza every day!
Oulu is a city and municipality of 208,939 inhabitants (31 July 2020) in the region of North Ostrobothnia, Finland. It is the most populous city in Northern Finland, and the fifth most populous in the country after Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere and Vantaa, and the fourth largest urban area in the country after Helsinki, Tampere and Turku. Oulu's neighboring municipalities are Hailuoto, Ii, Kempele, Liminka, Lumijoki, Muhos, Pudasjärvi, Tyrnävä and Utajärvi.
The old town is very nice to walk around and you can get here easily by taking the ferry from Helsinki. Gorgeous architecture and I was excited to come across a viking ship!
Lovely to walk around. My favorite thing was going to see the reindeer! Try to avoid taxis. A lot of them are dishonest. Other than that, enjoy!
Leaving Finland. Made so much memories during our stay. Air is so fresh, Nature is pristine and experienced my first ever northern lights. You should definitely visit Finland at least once in your life.
