A beautiful river in the heart of Florence. We loved leaning against the wall near the river with a cone of gelato just taking in the beauty! There are also some great restaurants with seating right over the river so the views are outstanding!

A stroll along the river and across the bridges is a great respite from the hustle and bustle of all the downtown shops. You don't see any boats on the river, which makes it so different from many other cities.
The Arno River separates Florence into two sides. It is the largest river in the region. It passes below the Ponte Vecchio and the Santa Trinita bridge. Walking along the river I spotted this bicycle just parked there with no one around. I loved the beauty and serenity.
Walk the banks of the Arno and admire the grand buildings lining the waterway. During festivals at night fireworks might be centered here and reflected for double pleasure. In all seasons lovers of all ages meet on the bridges.
Lovely river running through Florence. Perfect place for a sunset stroll. The architecture and views of the Ponte Vecchio are stunning.
