Palazzo Strozzi is a perfect example of the ideals of a noble Renaissance residence, and the complex appears as if a small fortress in the heart of the city, a specific request made by Filippo Strozzi...
Florence main attractions were closed but we could walk through the Palazzo Strozzi/Muse e Firenze. We were lucky in that there was an exhibit which Luca, our guide, explained about the artist

it hosts some of the best painting exhibitions in town. round the corner
Excellent museum venue for exhibits. Very well down. Better than most. I saw the da Kandinsky a Pollack exhibit here and it was beautiful.
Palazzo Strozzi is a microcosm of the whole city – and one of its finest expressions. Situaed in the heart of Florence, is one of the finest examples of Renaissance domestic architecture.
Palazzo Strozzi is not only a stunning example of of Italian Renaissance "domestic" architecture, it's an often overlooked art and culture museum as well. Years ago I saw a show of the portraitist Annigioni (think Queen Elizabeth on the cover of Time Magazine). As I write this the next show opening features American painters in Florence. Not up for the Ufizzi? Check out the Strozzi.
