I live a few blocks from Winwood, a little far away. Whether you go in the morning or at night, it's full of energy. If you wander the streets (preferably in the daytime), you will find amazing art everywhere. If you are lucky enough to live nearby, you can feel it many times. On Saturdays, Winnewood will hold a block party. This is one of the most interesting places in Miami.
Experience graffiti and galleries plus the rotating murals of street art on the second Saturday of every month. Wynwood opens up for free to everyone looking to explore the art world. Although you can buy tickets for your own personal tour, if you're in the area on the second Saturday, it's worth immersing yourself in the local culture. Food trucks are collectively selling their specialties, as well as galleries opening their doors to everyone. I would suggest getting there very early because it gets SWAMPED. Also, do not drive through the main street in Wynwood, too many people swarm the streets. It's impossible to drive out of.
I loved going and seeing the graffiti art on the sides of buildings and even on the sidewalks in the Wynwood Arts District. You could easily spend hours here if you wanted to try to see everything, and then probably still not see everything. The artwork is amazing. If I were to describe the area, it would be as a rundown section of town trying to make it's comeback into the place to be--so some areas I wondered if I should even be there, but yet they seemed to have some nice stores along the area, as well.
The Wynwood Art District is home to over 70 galleries, museums and collections. There are retail stores, antique shops, and eclectic bars. One of my favorite events is Art Walk, occurring every 2nd Saturday of every month. The event features openings at Art Galleries, Art Institutions, and Retail Businesses. And might I say, the Wynwood Walls are amazing! If you're an art lover, come and enjoy!
When people ask me what a good pitstop in Miami is, I always tell them Wynwood. It's just an awesome hub of culture. YOu've got a ton of delicious restaurants, the Wynwood Walls, and so many cool shops. It's the perfect place to spend the afternoon walking around!
This is our hipster neighborhood. The Grafitti artists have painted every building wild colors and there are contemporary art galleries and new restaurants everywhere!Take a walking tour every 2nd saturday of the month for a more indepth exam of Miami Contemporary Art http://www.wynwoodartwalk.com/ 305-814-9290
The wall of art in Miami is so beautiful. Every work is worth studying for a long time. It's a pity that I can't send it all to you. Later, slowly, the last one is my favorite. It not only has beautiful walls, but also combines the creation of floors. The two heads are created by artists with little buckles on the wall. The most important place in Miami,
One of a kind artsy experience, tons of fun bars and amazing restaurants. A must see in Miami.
