A La Carte Restaurant is a special Thailand local neighborhood restaurant to make some southeastern Asian and eastern Asian food, especially some kampong food.
Very exquisite small shop. There is not much food, but the variety is rich and the taste is also very good. It is worth recommending, especially the mousse cake, which is very unique.
Big portions, delicious food and affordable prices. A large grilled chicken piece costs just 80, big portion of rice for 20 and pretty much everything else for cheaper and better than anywhere else. ALL the food we ate there tasted good.
Didn't really think I'd find it here to review it so imagine my delight when I did. No idea if this is the real name for the place but if not before, it certainly is now. Ate here several times and food was always just the best! Real honest, tasty and fresh Thai fare, couldn't wait to get back there each time. Always too early for the BBQ food but once, when I tried the chicken, which was fine. The seafood pad Thai is the best and loved the cucumber salad- but everything is just delicious only I can't remember all we had here.
Humble it may look like, but dive in! The Esan food is worth it. This is not "diluted-for-tourists-Thai". Several lunches and dinners here and not one disappointing dish. Spicy papaya salad here had the rare balance of chili, lime, etc and crisp papaya to make it most refreshing. The stir-frys were all good. The coal-BBQ'd catfish was the winner though. Friendly, and fast (as in telling me that "this time catfish not ready, takes 30 minutes" - I took a stroll...and came back for when the fish was done and rested.
