Rather quiet on a Thursday night but superb food. Squid as a starter was lightly cooked and very tasty, garlic prawns were very garlicky. We all had “steak on a stone” for main course. The fillet was very tender and tasty. Choc mousse and flambée bananas rounded off a superb dinner. Ambience was calm and quiet but we loved it.

We went to the restaurant on NYE but the staff we still really attentive. The food was very good value for money and we were amazed there was no additional cost for that evening. The restaurant closed at 10pm and we would have loved to stay longer but appreciate the Madeira emphasis of getting back to their families. We will return
My request to sit outside on the platform near to the boats was recognised. The food was excellent and we loved the shrimp risotto. The other part of the restaurant needs some TLC. The service was exceptional and we think the restaurant is very good value for money.
This restaurant was amazing. Very reasonably priced and outstanding food - everything cooked and prepared to absolute perfection. We will be back!
We had a very good diner. The food was excellent and the service was great with a nice view on the harbor. I really can recommend the Bacalao.
