We called to confirm the set meal with hairy crabs to indulge in it. From seasonal vegetables and bamboo shoots to Furano wagyu, from fresh fruits to seafood, it once again proves that Hokkaido is a great place where ingredients can create miracles. One of their specialties is sea urchin sushi made with eggplant, which is a great experience!

It's worthy of being Sapporo's Michelin three-star restaurant. The sushi there is so delicious, and there are also many tempura-like things. Anyway, I haven't eaten them, but the products of Hanakoji are different and have a level of quality.
I personally strongly recommend the set meal at Hanakoji Sawada restaurant. The set meals at this restaurant are not only very balanced, but also very nutritious.
Hanakoji was upgraded to three Michelin stars in 2017~ I've heard that this restaurant is run by a family, very warm and family-like~ So I was very curious It's located in a very prosperous area in Sapporo (Tanukikoji is also nearby, and it should be Sapporo's red-light district when you walk out of the main road haha) on the fourth floor of a building, and there are so many food in that building~ We were arranged in a private room, and we booked the Hokkaido hairy crab set meal in advance~ As soon as we sat down, we ordered plum wine~ The appetizer was sour and appetizing, and the general kaiseki appetizer is similar to this~ Fried food! Corn! I like it so much, it's really unexpected, I'm a person who doesn't like fried food, like tempura, I don't like it. This corn is just right, the sweet taste covers the fried taste. Hairy crab, no need to say, Hokkaido specialty! Of course it's great! Sea urchin + scallop, it's great I only like super fresh sea urchin! The feeling of melting in the mouth (I had a very smelly sea urchin at a Japanese restaurant in London before, and I said I would never eat sea urchin again in my life haha) White fish, basically you will have it when eating kaiseki cuisine, dip it in sour vinegar sauce ~ refreshing My mother who doesn't like Japanese food also praised this dinner
Kaiseki cuisine_Hanakoji With the publication of the Michelin Red Guide in May 2017, Hanakoji was upgraded from two stars to three stars, so I booked a seat for today and booked my flight in mid-June. Let’s live in the present and enjoy the food. The 11 dishes prepared by chef Tomoya Kago's team were very carefully prepared. It is also a rare opportunity to appreciate his exquisite cooking skills at the bar. There are only 5 bar seats out of a total of 36 seats, which are hard to come by. For example, the first dish is salmon roe, yam and kochia scoparia. Yam is used to replenish energy in the rainy summer. Salmon roe is a specialty of Hokkaido, and the double granular taste of kochia scoparia makes the whole look refreshing. It has a triple chewing texture, and Kochia scoparia seeds can remove moisture and relieve itching. This dish combines seasonality, art, cooking and flavor. As a Michelin three-star restaurant, the price of 13,800 yen is really a reasonable price. CINDERELLA recommends [wit] [wit] [wit]
This was one of the best Japanese restaurants we visited during our 11 day trip to Hokkaido. Fresh Hokkaido ingredients (onions, corn, seafood, beef, fresh fruits, vegetables) and cooked to perfection. The price was very affordable too. It was a perfect dinner for our trip to Hokkaido. Remember to book in advance.
The dish that impressed me the most was the eggplant and sea urchin. It was delicious. The eggplant from Hokkaido was very good, and the wagyu tofu was also delicious. They were all good seasonal products. The portion size was well controlled, so you wouldn't feel too greasy.
