Linggui Tower

Linggui Garden is located in the eastern suburbs of Hecheng District by the Xijiang River, and is a historical place in Gaoming City. The two historical sites in the park, the Linggui Pagoda and the Tang Dynasty Dragon Kiln ruins, are both provincial key cultural relics. In the twenty-ninth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1601), Lingnan poet and Dalun from Jinshi District donated silver to advocate the construction of this pagoda on Guifeng, and wrote the "Guifeng Pagoda Inscription": "E'e Guifeng, pulls out of Zhongchuan, and the tower surges. Go out and make a pillar in the sky. Yingxiang Yixing, Weizi Duoxian, Yiyi Zuodi, hundreds of millions of years." Because there is a legend that the turtle peaks were transformed by the gods, the tower was named Linggui Tower. The Linggui Pagoda is built on the Guifeng Mountain in Linjiang. It is a flat octagonal seven-story pavilion-style brick with a height of 32.3 meters and no base. The first floor has two doors with a diameter of 7.2 meters and an inner diameter of 2.4 meters. Buddha statue, lost. There are four doors between the floors above the second floor, and there are flat railings on each floor. The first floor has a wide sub-step circle, and the Tasha is a towering phase wheel. It was rebuilt in 1984. There is a beautiful and moving legend about Guifeng Mountain and Linggui Pagoda: according to legend, in ancient times, poisonous snakes, beasts, and poisonous miasma were infested. People prayed to God for blessing, and finally moved the tortoise. He dispelled the poisonous miasma, subdued poisonous snakes and beasts, and benefited the local people. However, because of exhaustion, he died on the riverside, and then turned into a mountain, known as Guifeng Mountain. Later generations built the Turtle Tower on the mountain to mourn the tortoise. Legend has entrusted the good wishes of the wise people. According to historical records, the Linggui Pagoda was built with donations from the Prime Minister of Jinshi District, Gaoming County, in the 29th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1061). The tower is a flat octagonal seven-story, 32.2 meters high, and the eaves of each floor are decorated with animal-shaped glazed tiles. The tower is towering and beautiful, overlooking the beautiful Xiqiao Mountain in the distance, and the rolling West River water close up, which complements Gaoming New City and is magnificent. The Tang Dynasty Dragon Kiln site was discovered for the first time in Guangdong, and more than 1000 kinds of pottery, such as bowls, plates, basins, jars, and jars, were unearthed with distinctive Tang Dynasty pottery characteristics. In order to protect these precious cultural heritages, the municipal government funded the construction of the Gaoming Museum on the basis of the preserved ruins. The museum displays precious cultural relics of various dynasties unearthed in Gaoming City, which have witnessed the long-standing humanistic and historical process of Gaoming. Linggui Garden was renovated twice in 1984 and 1998, retaining the style and characteristics of ancient buildings. The mountains and rivers in the garden are clear and clean, and a new sunken square, calligraphy and painting gallery, beautiful lotus ponds and small winding paths have been built. Bridge, ancient culture and modern civilization are interactively integrated in Linggui Garden, which is also harmonious and beautiful.
