Guilin Museum

I went to Guilin for a business trip and walked around by the way. I came to the Guilin Museum. This is the largest museum in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a large comprehensive museum that includes many exhibition halls. It is recommended that you reserve at least half a day here. It feels really big. The exterior of Guilin Museum has the characteristics of northern Guangxi houses and the ancient charm of Han and Tang Dynasty. The construction area is 3.4 million square meters, the exhibition hall area is 1.2 million square meters, and there is a 1400 square meters youth science and education activity center. There are more than 10,000 pieces (sets) in the museum from the Paleolithic to the modern historical periods, forming ceramics (representative of Buddhist pottery unearthed in Guizhou Kiln in the Tang Dynasty and Meibottle unearthed in the Ming Dynasty), calligraphy and painting (representative of Ming and Qing famous calligraphy and paintings, Guilin books and paintings and Guilin landscape paintings), Anti-Japanese War cultural relics and historical materials (representative of the cultural relics of the Southwest Opera Exhibition), cultural relics of national folk customs (representative of the costumes of the ethnic minorities in the south), and gifts for visiting foreign guests in Guizhou are supported by 12 types of cultural relics.

The museum introduces various fields such as Guilin's ancient times, ancient Guilin's humanities, modern history and culture, and modern Guilin's traditional culture.

Guilin Museum has been under construction since April 21, 1964, and was completed and displayed on the 30th anniversary of the founding of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in November 1988. The museum is located at No. 4 Xishan Road, Xiufeng District. The name of the museum was written by Mr. Guo Moruo in March 1963. The new museum of Guilin is located on Pinggui West Road, Lingui New District.
