Sanfang Qixiang Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
October, South Hou Street, Fuzhou
South Hou Street in Fuzhou starts from the west at Yangqiao intersection, and ends in the south at the intersection of Jibi Lane and Macau Road, with a total length of about 1000 meters. It is the central axis of the 'Three Lanes and Seven Alleys' in Fuzhou city. There are seven alleys on its east side and three lanes on its west side. It was the main commercial street from the rise of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in Fuzhou to the Republic of China period, with merchants gathered from north to south. South Hou Street is the central axis of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. The renovated South Hou Street will be full of ancient charm, and the width of the road will reach 12 meters, including a 7-meter-wide pedestrian street. South Hou Street, which starts from Yangqiao Road and ends at Jibi Road, is only 634 meters long. It is a leisure and cultural commercial street that combines tradition and modernity. Unfortunately, the old South Hou Street and some of the surrounding buildings were demolished from 2007 to 2009, and most of the existing buildings are replicas. With the construction of the new South Hou Street, many modern businesses have also entered this ancient area.
Now it is mainly about eating and drinking, which is quite suitable for the new generation.

Fuzhou Sanfang Seven Lanes to eat all Raiders h
Fuzhou Sanfang Qixiang originated in the Jin Dynasty, covering an area of about 40 hectares, consisting of three squares, seven lanes and a central axis Street South Street. The three squares are Yijinfang, Wenrufang and Guanglufang; Qizhixiang are Yangqiao Lane, Langguan Lane, Taxiang, Huangxiang, Anmin Lane, Gongxiang and Jipi Lane. The ancient layout of the alleys has remained largely intact.
The general tour of Sanfangqixiang is: South Back Street Gate, along the South Back Street, from left to right, you can visit Langguan Lane and Tower Lane. Tower Lane, turn right and buy a cup of Starbucks, and continue to swim in Huangxiang and Yijinfang with coffee. You can't miss the Shoushan Stone Carving Hall and Zong Taozhai. After swimming through these, you will find a few old Fuzhou snacks and fish balls in the central area of South Back Street. Fill your stomach and continue to visit Wenrufang and Anmin Lane. The focus of the tour is on Wenrufang, stop and take a look, and turn right to the Fujian Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo. Finally, visit the Palace Lane, Guanglufang, Jipi Lane. At the end of the South Back Street, there is a fixed photo at the stone monument of Sanfangqixiang, and the three squares and seven lanes are finished. If you walk along the three squares and seven lanes like the above position, you cant see why you cant see it. The real way to go is to pick one or two more interesting squares and go shopping. A house, as small as one brick and one watt.

Shangxiahang Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Shanghang Road and Xiahang Road in Taijiang and its nearby neighborhoods are commonly known as “Shuanghang”. It refers to two parallel horizontal streets from Xiaoqiaotou to Damiao Road. It was the commercial center and shipping dock of Fuzhou in the early years. "Hang" was originally derived from the "air" sound, which is the meaning of the pier. It has been the place where the tides have gathered since ancient times. There is a historical process of geographical change. In ancient times, the rivers bypassed the temples, and the upper and lower hangs were the mouths of the Jinkou. The star shifts and the hydrological changes. The original waterfront pier has gradually become the hinterland of riverside business and life with the increasing impact of land. Although Shanghang Street is slightly worn out compared with other places in Fuzhou, the people living here are so comfortable, I don’t feel that this is an old street surrounded by noisy cities around as if they still live in their own circles. Although this circle is fragile, it may not exist if it is not protected, but only one day, they will live in peace and harmony.
Fuzhou | Shangxiahang The romance of red walls and yellow flowers is truly understood by few
Shangxiahang used to be the CBD where Fuzhou merchants, business groups, and guild halls were concentrated. It still retains the original style of residential buildings, wooden buildings along the river, and modern buildings deep in the streets, all of which are very beautiful, reminiscent of the old streets of Kunming.
🚇Transportation: Metro Line 1 Dadao Station, Exit C
⌚️Opening Hours: All day
🎫Admission: Free
🕒Recommended Visiting Time: 2-3h
🔘The red wall at the entrance: The combination of red walls and yellow flowers is truly breathtaking, making it impossible to move on, a signature spring romance of Shangxiahang.
🔘Compared to the bustling and crowded Sanfang Qixiang, I prefer the leisurely strolls in Shangxiahang, where there are significantly fewer people. If time permits, you can visit the ancient Gutian Assembly Hall at the end of the street, which closes at 17:00.
Shangxiahang
Shangxiahang | Everyone is busy grabbing porridge
Fuzhou's Shangxiahang is very similar to the small towns in the Jiangnan area, which used to thrive due to its waterway advantages, becoming a district crowded with merchants and famous shops. The surrounding buildings are all wooden structures with gray bricks and black tiles, and horse-head walls, exuding the charm of Southern Fujian.
Walking further in, suddenly there's a hubbub of voices, and it's extremely crowded ! It turns out to be a restaurant named 'Broken Shop' offering porridge as a gesture of respect to the elderly . Seeing that even strong, able-bodied middle-aged people are scrambling for porridge, I can't help but chuckle This restaurant must have good karma; although 'broken', it probably won't go 'bankrupt' !

Follow along, to the less crowded little Jiangnan - A guide to Fuzhou's Shangxia Hang
Fuzhou | Stroll·Little Jiangnan
This is not Hangzhou or Wuzhen, but Fuzhou's Shangxia Hang...

Mist sprays every few minutes, creating an ethereal atmosphere. Wander along the water's edge, immersed in the misty reflections on the water, or take a boat ride along the creek, or visit a Chinese-style teahouse. There are various ancient-style and modern Chinese internet-famous spots for immersive photography.
Transportation - Take a taxi to Shangxia Hang scenic area or take the subway line 1 to Dadadao Station Exit C, then walk for 7 minutes
Tickets/Cost💰 - Shangxia Hang district is free
Boat ride for 25 minutes costs 98💰 and can seat up to 5 people; you can pilot the boat yourself

Dinghaiwan Ruolin Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
In Fujian, Fuzhou | I learned a new photography style!
👀 Family, the incredibly stunning and lesser-known Qida Village in Lianjiang, Fujian must be recommended! Whenever the weather gets hot, I just want to see the sea🌊. This weekend, I took my bestie👭 for a drive there; it's only 1h away from the downtown area of Fuzhou, which is so convenient👍
🏠 After checking into the Ruolin Hotel in Dinghai Bay, we decided to head to Qida Village and discovered it's a perfect place for photography📸! Every shot is like a blockbuster, absolutely amazing~✨🌈
🏛️ Qida Village is a small fishing village, not very commercialized, and 'Ruolin Hotel' is the most famous star-rated hotel here. 🎁 Staying here also includes a hot pot package🍲, which tastes great👍🥟. Later, we strolled on the beach of Dinghai Bay, which was really fun with all the amusement facilities. 😂
🌅 The sunrise🌇 at the hotel is super beautiful! 📸 A casual snap is full of the atmospheric Korean style.
⛰ It's worth mentioning Qiguan Top, which has three routes,
👉① Drive to the middle of the mountain and then walk up,
② Drive to the foot of the mountain and climb more than 1800 steps,
③ There's also a dirt road that leads to the top of the mountain.
We drove to the foot of the mountain and climbed🧗 up, which took us about 30 minutes🅿️. It was over 1800 steps to reach the top😭. I was exhausted, but the vast and magnificent sea in front of me swept away all the fatigue!🌊 I also saw a windmill that's super suitable for taking photos and checking in, it's really photogenic~📷

The blue tears of Pingtan are about to experience a massive outbreak!! Hurry up and rush over!!!
The best chance to witness the blue tears is here, don't miss out on rushing over!!! 😍😍😍
👋 I've stayed up several nights to organize this most comprehensive guide to the Pingtan blue tears, almost blinding myself, but fortunately, hard work pays off, and I've finally put it together!!! 😭
✋ I won't allow anyone to remain unaware of the stunning blue tears hotspot on Pingtan Island. You don't have to go to the Maldives to see them, we have them in our own country!!
👉 The blue tears of Pingtan are seasonally limited, generally appearing from March to May. This is when the probability of successfully witnessing them is the highest. I've stayed up several nights to compile these tips, nearly blinding myself. 👀👀👀
😘 If you want to see the blue tears, it's best to choose a day with a light breeze or a southerly wind, but it doesn't have to be a southerly wind; sometimes a gentle breeze from any direction will do. If the wind and waves are too strong on the day, the blue tears will be scattered.
⚠️ A little tip: Red tide is also a precursor to the appearance of blue tears 👌. If you notice a slight reddish tint in the sea during the day while playing at the beach, then there's a very high chance of seeing blue tears tonight. Remember these two precursors, they're very helpful for chasing the tears. 😍
💧 Likely locations for the appearance of blue tears include: the northern line's Changjiang'ao, Mojing Village, Dongmei Village, Nanaozi, and Cat Head Dry; the southern line's Tannan Bay, Dafu Bay; and around the county town, Longfengtou, and Guanjiang Village.
📷 I've also organized tips for photographing the blue tears.
1️⃣ If you're using an iPhone, just use the Night mode for shooting, the new models capture it easily, older models may need to use screen recording;
2️⃣ If you're using an Android, use the Pro mode, set the ISO to 6400, and the shutter speed to 2 seconds;
3️⃣ If you're using a camera, use the M mode, set the sensitivity to the highest, shutter time to over 15 seconds, and it's best to use a tripod to stabilize the camera. 😘
⚠️ Be sure to check the weather before you go
📍 There's also a super photogenic, lesser-known secret spot, which is Qiguan Top in Qida Village, Lianjiang County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It's just a 1-hour drive from Pingtan Island. This place, far from the hustle and bustle of the world, is a primitive and simple fishing village, known as 'Fuzhou's Rio de Janeiro', and is a must-visit! 🌴
📸 On the way to Qiguan Top, as you ascend along the mountain, the view becomes increasingly vast, and the distant sea horizon becomes clearer, with every casual shot turning out to be a masterpiece, boasting a very high success rate for great photos. Once you arrive, you'll feel as if you've instantly traveled to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. 😍
🏨 I highly recommend staying at the Dinghai Bay Ruolin Hotel. From the rooms here, you can see the vast sea and the azure sky, and the beach is just downstairs, making it very suitable for couples, families, and friends to vacation together. The Ruolin Restaurant tastes good 👍🏻 both in flavor and service.
The Pingtan Island is known as the ceiling of blue tears in China
I finally saw the blue tears! The blue tears were finally caught on Pingtan Island in Fujian!
📍Location
Pingtan Island is located in Fujian
✅Conditions
Southerly wind
Temperature around 21-25 degrees
High air humidity, during high tide
✅Tips
The best time to chase the tears is often in the early morning~ On the night of March 16th, there was about a level 2 blue tears sighting
✅Sightseeing Spots
Tan Nan Bay
Dong Mei Village
Chang Jiang Ao
Long Wang Tou
Jing Sha
✅Attractions
Ha Sha Village: The stranded boats are known as the 'Rio de Janeiro of Lianjiang', and the atmosphere is full when the tide is out
✅Cuisine: When in Fuzhou, you must have a seafood meal, and the clay pot porridge is quite good! Fish noodles, fish balls, and meat swallows are local specialties
✅Accommodation
1️⃣Pingtan Accommodation: Stay in the county town, if you want to see the sunrise, you can find a homestay near Long Wang Tou
2️⃣Lianjiang Accommodation: I chose the Ruolin Hotel in Dinghai Bay, not far from the main attractions, with a clean and hygienic environment, a restaurant with a rich menu, shrimp heart youtiao and bonito soup are the signature dishes, and the seafood inside is fresh~

Qida Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Few people post about the sunrise at Qiguanding, so let me do it!
I drove from Wenzhou to Qiguanding at midnight 🚗
There was no need to climb the 1800 steps, I took a shortcut by car
It took about 20 minutes to hike up the mountain ⛰️ at 5:30 am and easily reached the summit
I saw the sunrise I wanted to see, the only downside was that the wind was really too strong
It was not friendly to my hair
This hidden gem in a small fishing village in Fujian 🌊 The Chinese version of Rio de Janeiro - Qida Village
The moment you climb Qiguanding is a blend of mountains and sea, a breathtaking view 💕💕
.
📍Qida Village, Lianjiang County - known as the Chinese version of Rio de Janeiro
⛰The best viewing angle of Qida Village is right next to Baiyun Mountain's Qiguanding
There are two options for going up the mountain, you can walk more than 1000 steps, or you can drive to the parking lot near Baiyun Temple and walk up from there~ We chose the latter, which is also the less strenuous route~
🎫Ticket: Free🆓
.
🚗Navigate to Baiyun Temple, the road is a winding mountain road, don't doubt and keep driving past the yellow archway with the Baiyun Temple sign, continue driving inside is a gravel road (the other side of the fork in the road is Baiyun Temple which is still under construction), keep driving along the gravel road! Until you reach a platform where you can see windmills and park, you can choose to stop here, and if there are not many cars, you can drive a little further up.
We drove to the end of the gravel road when we went, and there was a gate that only allowed walking, maybe it will be open in the future~ After getting out of the car, it takes about half an hour to walk to Qiguanding, but this gravel road is relatively flat without steps, it's very easy to stroll to the top!
.
🚩Photo spots at Qiguanding 📷
1️⃣The highest Qiguanding has a red flag, not far from the pavilion, you can take photos of the bay and windmills at the top, the sunrise here did not disappoint me!
2️⃣The most beautiful spot is down the steps from Qiguanding to the end of the mountain where there are many large rocks, in an instant the beauty is breathtaking~~🎈You can overlook the entire panorama of Qida Village, and you get the feeling of Rio de Janeiro🌊
3️⃣Standing at the end of more than 1000 steps, you can take an overhead shot of people and the full view of the fishing village, which is a more everyday spot suitable for sisters who are afraid of heights~
4️⃣Walking forward from the Qiguanding kiosk, there is a stone that says 'Peace is a blessing', going down you can take photos of Qida Village sandwiched between two mountains, the angle is also very unique~
5️⃣There are many scenic spots on the way, the platform near the end of the gravel road can take photos of the windmills and sea view behind, it's like being transported into a Miyazaki anime in a second~
⚠️Safety first when taking photos, some places have quite slippery stones.
. 🍳Food recommendations:
1⃣️Fish noodles, fish balls, oyster pancakes
2⃣️Various seafood! Abalone, mantis shrimp, oysters, razor clams
Accommodation in Qida Village
Dinghai Bay Ruolin Hotel
There are few hotels near Qida Village, we chose a nearby star-rated sea view hotel (it has floor-to-ceiling windows + sea view room, wake up in the morning and open the curtains to see the sunrise.
Just a few dozen meters downstairs is the beach, very quiet and comfortable. The hotel has a seafood restaurant, the prices are very reasonable, you can go with confidence!

Finally, I have climbed to the top of Dongfang Rio de Janeiro and encountered the stunning mountains and seas
If you can't go to Rio de Janeiro, then come to Fuzhou's Dongfang Rio instead~
The scenery is absolutely no less than abroad 😭
It can be said that it must have a place among the niche tourist attractions in China
There are hardly any people now, and the number of tourists is super low
The key point is that this is not a photo deception‼️
The reality feels even more beautiful than the pictures
.
📍Address: Qiguanding, Lianjiang County, Fujian
🎫Ticket: Free
🚗Transportation: It is recommended to drive by yourself, about 1h drive from the high-speed rail station
.
The sea here is really super blue, the photos look great without any editing, and there are so many angles to take pictures from. Overlooking the entire Qida Village from the top of the mountain is very spectacular~
.
🧗🏻♂️How to reach the summit
There are many ways mentioned online, but it all comes down to two methods
1️⃣Navigate directly to 'Qiguanding', there is a large stone monument at the foot of the mountain, next to which is the path to climb the mountain, it takes about 40 minutes to reach the top, simple and effective
2️⃣After navigating to Qiguanding, continue driving upwards, there are mountain roads and dirt roads, keep driving to the city wall arch. Then start walking for 20 minutes. (It is recommended to climb the mountain directly using the first method)
3️⃣The stranded boat in Ha Sha Village
The recently popular shipwreck spot
Lianjiang's version of 'Bruwes'
The atmosphere is full when the tide is out!
.
🍳Food:
1⃣️Fish noodles, fish balls, oyster pancakes
2⃣️Various seafood! Abalone, mantis shrimp, oysters, razor clams
Accommodation in Qida Village
Dinghai Bay Ruolin Hotel
There are very few hotels near Qida Village, I personally pay more attention to hygiene and comfort, so I chose a nearby star-rated sea view hotel (it is a floor-to-ceiling window sea view room, you can see the sunrise when you wake up in the morning and open the curtains.
Just walk a few dozen meters downstairs to reach the beach, it's very quiet and comfortable. There is a seafood restaurant in the scenic area that is affiliated with the hotel, the prices are very reasonable, you can go there with confidence!

🌟Travel Tips
1️⃣For photography, you must choose a good weather, so you can see the blue sea. If it's cloudy and foggy, you won't be able to capture anything
2️⃣It is definitely recommended to drive by yourself, as transportation is really inconvenient, and it's hard to get a taxi in remote areas
3️⃣The top of the mountain is quite steep, so be sure to pay attention to safety when taking photos, as many places do not have railings, so be careful

❇️Ways to go up the mountain
1⃣️At the foot of the mountain, park for free at the Qiguan Top stone stele, then climb 1800 steps up the mountain
✅Suitable for young people with good physical strength, take photos while climbing, and you can encounter more surprises
2️⃣Carpool or take a motorcycle taxi near the mountain entrance, the price is about 20-50, especially taking a motorcycle taxi, which can save time queuing up the mountain during peak hours
✅Motorcycle taxis are more suitable for 1-2 people going up the mountain together, not cost-effective for more people, and it doesn't look very safe
3️⃣Drive to the bottom of the Qiguan Top wall
✅After taking a motorcycle taxi or driving to the wall, you need to walk along a low wall similar to the Great Wall for more than 1 kilometer to reach the Jiuxian Jun Temple, climb up the small dirt slope on the right side of the temple, walk a short distance forward and you will encounter steps, walk down the steps, the pavilion and red wishing plaques are the popular photo spots, walking up leads to a broader view
✅Driving up the mountain, the mountain road has eighteen bends, not easy to navigate, the last 1 kilometer to the wall is a dirt road with stones, bumpy, and difficult for cars with low chassis
✅Self-driving during peak times will encounter 4 or 5 vehicle control points, vehicles have to queue up to go up the mountain, and only when cars come down can an equivalent number of cars go up, the waiting time is very long (but once you get up there, you'll find that there aren't so many cars that a few more couldn't be accommodated)
‼️Tips‼️
▶️Be sure to go on a sunny day❗The mountain roads are difficult in rainy weather and the photo effects are much worse❗
▶️The popular photo spot is located on the edge of a cliff, be cautious⚠️ and ensure safety, those who are afraid of heights (like myself) are advised not to get too close, it's not necessary to take the risk, but personal safety is a must
▶️Whether at the foot of the mountain, halfway up, or at the top, parking is free🅿️, during holidays and peak times, besides taking a motorcycle taxi, the time spent driving around the mountain (including traffic control queuing) and walking up the stairs feels about the same
▶️When you reach the control point in front of the Guanyin Temple, do not listen to the security guard and park on the spot, the 1 kilometer-plus mountain road is not long, but the dust is particularly heavy,
when other vehicles pass by, pedestrians can get a mouthful of dust, be sure to drive to the bottom of the wall (the arch in the upper right corner of picture 5)
▶️Naturally, the prices on the mountain are higher than at the foot of the mountain (e.g., tea eggs 4 yuan each, grilled sausages 10 yuan each), you can bring a small amount of water and snacks (there's not much to do at the top of the mountain, 1-2 hours for taking photos and resting is enough)
▶️The wind is strong on the mountain and it's sunny, be prepared for wind, sun protection, and insect prevention
🍳Food recommendations:
1⃣️Fish noodles, fish balls, oyster pancakes, the seafood beef hotpot in the hotel is also great.
Accommodation in Qida Village
Dinghai Bay Ruolin Hotel
There are few hotels near Qida Village, for a family trip, this time we chose a nearby high-end sea view hotel (it has floor-to-ceiling windows + sea view rooms, wake up in the morning and open the curtains to see the sunrise).
