Village
juki235Matmata is a spectacular hill unique to the rugged mountainous area composed of loess history, presenting a sense of magic in outer space. Because the terrain here has been refracted by sunlight for a long time, the land here appears dark red and the temperature is very high. It's really a barren scene.

Desert
juki235In the desert of Maitmatai, there is an artificially constructed scenic spot that was used as a location for shooting Star Wars. The buildings here are all piled up with loess, and the scene of a desert feels like being in outer space. Recalling the scenes of Star Wars, it was really filmed here, so why not come and visit.

juki235The Berbers are the only race living in this desert area of Matmata. They all live in artificially excavated caves, which are warm in winter and cool in summer. They are very comfortable. They will raise animals in residential areas of such caves. The living environment is actually very good. You might as well come and visit. A life like no other.

Museum
coo***anA really lovely museum directly opposite Tretyakov gallery. Located in the lovingly preserved 17th century building with lots of original features. Interactive, so it''s fun to visit with the children. The younger members of staff speak English and explained the exhibitions very well. All of the members of staff were very friendly and helpful. A nice little gift shop with fun and unusual souvenirs. Highly recommended!

Island/Peninsula
当地向导行erWe stayed on Gilba Island for six nights and loved this charming island very much. The area of the island is not small, and there are plenty of places to visit. We are now staying in a resort hotel in the tourist area and taking a taxi to the city centre is only 5 dinars, which is very convenient and safe. We went to Djierbahood, a paradise for street artists. This open-air graffiti resort brings popularity to the quiet village. Every graffiti shows humanity, environmental protection, deepness, or life. 800 meters from djerbahood is another place of pilgrimage for Jews. It is said that a large number of Jews come for pilgrimage here every year. The ancient synagogue has a history of 100 years, but it is not open all the time. We just closed when we went. We have to wait until 3:30 in the afternoon. Just opened. The days on the island were very leisurely. We also took a pirate ship for a day trip. The price can be discussed with the boss of the ship, lunch and entertainment are provided. The so-called entertainment is everyone dancing together! If you are lucky, you can see the dolphins. We arrived at Flamingo Island after more than an hour by boat. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the flamingo, but the grilled fish for lunch made up for our worries. Go catch crabs in the sea.

燃烧生命的小胖妞Gillet Salt Lake is the largest desert salt lake in the world. Although it is named a lake, the actual water content of the Gillet Salt Lake is very small and the salt content is extremely high due to the huge amount of evaporation. There is even one of the lakes with the highest salt content in the world. Said that the salt content is even comparable to that of the Dead Sea. If you are lucky, you can still see a mirage in the desert when the weather is clear and the sun is strong.
